"It has to start some time.
It has to start some where.
What better time than now?
What better world than this?"

Other than that, the collecting the rest of the books in Cythera doesn't really accomplish anything, although some of them provide usefull and interesting information.
Hope this helps.

I opened the barrier and he still sits there. Anybody got a clue to what the story with this guy and Omen is? Is Omen one of the elements and doesn't want him to escape? Curious.....
Omen is a servant for the Undine. You "kill" his master when you distill the Crolna. Jinrai is an undine.
I too am puzzled about UrSylph staying there. Oh well.....

Omen (coming from the Undine), doesn't want UrSylph to be free because UrSylph is one of the few things that could defeat the Undine. However, UrSylph doesn't want to be the most powerfull element anymore, because it knows that when it does defeat the Undine, it will just be imprisoned again.
This is largely hypothetical.
[and Avatara, come on! Now my above post makes me look like I'm insane. ]

Other than a couple of minor points (and one very small specific but not as minor point) it is a very good and accurate assestment of the situation.

Appearantly Rogan hasn't noticed, although Rogan's post wasn't worth the time it takes to load.

I will agree with you. It seems like the most logical explanation. But why is there only one wind element, UrSylph? The other elements have a "people", more than one being. This may take more digging around to find out. Plus if he is the most powerful element could he be persauded to help you? And Omen states that Alaric in the height of his power could not stop UrSylph. Does that mean Alaric is as powerful or more powerful than the elements? And if so how cana mere human gain such power? Interesting.....
1) UrSylph is the last of the Sylphs, the others were destroyed (I think) in the war between the elements. UrSylph was the strongest of their kind.
2) I don't think so, it would kind of ruin the challenge of beating the game if you had the most powerfull being in the realm on your side.
3) I believe Alaric is about the same power as each individual element, although this might be from something someone said in a team story, I can't remember.
4) Who ever said Alaric is a human?...
