When you ask Eioneus to enhance your sword, what exactly does it do each time you enhance it?

I know that the sword does more damage, say from a hard hit to and extremely hard hit. Whether it also improves the chance of hitting, I'm not sure, but probably. The thing that sucks the most, though, is that you can't infinately upgrade swords Posted Image.

Ok, thanks Theo Nean Donly. Next question. What does all the books do. If you get them all do they do something for you? Or are they just their to enhance the game by adding a backround with a storyline?

If you mean the saphire (sp?) books of knoledge, than collecting them lets you into the upper halls of Pynx, where there are more powerfull spells. There are ten saphire books, and five upper halls, so you need two for each hall. Ask Selinus, the librarian, about "password" (I think).

Other than that, the collecting the rest of the books in Cythera doesn't really accomplish anything, although some of them provide usefull and interesting information.

Hope this helps.

Theo Nean Donly thanks again! Of the four elements the Wind guy is imprisoned in that cave on the island in the lake. It says it cares not what happens to itself or anybody else. Yet Omen warns insistently not to even talk to him. I opened the barrier and he still sits there. Anybody got a clue to what the story with this guy and Omen is? Is Omen one of the elements and doesn't want him to escape? Curious.....

And yes I did Posted Image

Omen is a servant for the Undine. You "kill" his master when you distill the Crolna. Jinrai is an undine.

I too am puzzled about UrSylph staying there. Oh well.....

From the putting different pieces together, I think Sylphs were once the most powerfull of elements, but then the three others worked together to destroy them, and trapping UrSylph, the last of its kind. Why they didn't just destroy it, I assume that either UrSylph was too powerfull, or they feared that if another of them rose too high in power, they could release UrSylph to get it to help them.

Omen (coming from the Undine), doesn't want UrSylph to be free because UrSylph is one of the few things that could defeat the Undine. However, UrSylph doesn't want to be the most powerfull element anymore, because it knows that when it does defeat the Undine, it will just be imprisoned again.

This is largely hypothetical.

Other than a couple of minor points (and one very small specific but not as minor point) it is a very good and accurate assestment of the situation.

Well Theo Nean Donly, hypothetical, but not insane. I will agree with you. It seems like the most logical explanation. But why is there only one wind element, UrSylph? The other elements have a "people", more than one being. This may take more digging around to find out. Plus if he is the most powerful element could he be persauded to help you? And Omen states that Alaric in the height of his power could not stop UrSylph. Does that mean Alaric is as powerful or more powerful than the elements? And if so how cana mere human gain such power? Interesting.....

Appearantly Rogan hasn't noticed, although Rogan's post wasn't worth the time it takes to load.

1) UrSylph is the last of the Sylphs, the others were destroyed (I think) in the war between the elements. UrSylph was the strongest of their kind.

2) I don't think so, it would kind of ruin the challenge of beating the game if you had the most powerfull being in the realm on your side. Posted Image

3) I believe Alaric is about the same power as each individual element, although this might be from something someone said in a team story, I can't remember.

4) Who ever said Alaric is a human?... Posted Image

If I remember correctly, Alaric is 1/4 Seldane, 1/4 Undine, and 1/2 human.

How do you know how much fraction Alaric is? How is he related to all of these?

Along the road to completing the game, you learn a great deal about Alaric's heritage.

The reason that the UrSylph doesn't leave if you break the barrier is because he "does not care" as he says.

Ok, the Odd Helm is supposed to protect you somewhat from fear and confuse spells right? Obviously the mystic helm is worth much more, but does it do the same thing as the odd helm?
