The Ethereal void

Lucas gathers his equipment; A sack, a staff, a pouch full of potions and rare, magcial gemstones and an enchanted dirk. He is now ready to find and retrieve the books which were foolishly thrown into the ethereal void so they could be destroyed. Of course, this thought was wrong, since the void serves as a portal to, for now, unknown worlds.
"I can not go down there alone" says Lucas to the crowd as he picks up a rope and fastenes it to an outcrop. "Anyone who wishes to join me, speak now. Maybe the ones who threw the books down in the first place?" Lucas grabs hold of the rope and starts to make his way down into the purple, green and blue light which is the ethereal void...

Tycho starts to cast a weird spell and the group causing them to glow brightly for a moment, but nothing else seems to happen.
"What did that do?" asked Lucas.
"It highlights different things, any thing that is rare, important, dangerous, helpful, or just plain different from normal is highlighted by it."

"Hh.. hi... Who are you?", asks Lucas.
" I am Siegfried. (Pronounced in a German accent [seekfreed]) I am one of the only Barbarians left in Cythera. I seek adventure, and I heard you were going on a dangerous trip."
"Why yes. But why do we need you?", asks Tyrael.
"I know the land. I know what's dangerous, what's not. And I can wield my battle axe better than anyone in this land."
He swings his huge axe high into the air, and lets it crash down. The impact is so great the ground shakes.
"Very well... You may join us! But, you will need some armor."
"I have my armor on me." answers Siegfried.
He's clothed in bear fur. Tyrael notices something glimer under his vest.
"what's that?" he asks.
He is met with a grin.
"This, " says Siegfried as he takes off his fur vest, "is a vest made entirely of dragon scales. Tougher than any metal, lighter than any armor."
"Ah.. I have heard of you. You are the one who killed the dragon in the volcano down in the south!" says Tyrael.
"Indeed."
"I'm sorry for ever dooubting your abilities. Now let's go!"

"How far down goes this rope?" asked Tycho, doubtfully.
"I...I have no idea" responded Lucas, "but it should be long enough to reach one of these worlds that is written about in the ancient books. I only hope we can find the books before..." He got interrupted by a "snap" from above and, suddenly, the four men realised that the rope was no longer fastened. With tremendous speed, they fell downwards into the dark parts of the void, screaming, swearing, and with their lives passing in front of their eyes.
A while later, still falling, they suddenly came to an almost complete stop. "What the..." escaped from Siegfried's lips, but Lucas said with relief 9n his voice: "The void is coming to an end! The void's border seems to be slowing us down! Watch out!"
Tyrael narrowed his eyes and asked "what you mean 'watch out'?"
Suddenly, they increased speed again, and fell down onto the ground. "Oh...now I see" said Tyrael as he wiped the dirt off his clothes.
When the four men came to thamselves again, they were standing on a lush, green field covered with flowers in all colors and some trees bearing fruits could be seen in the distance. "At least one of those books ended up here" Lucas said, "let us start searching!"
Before anyone could agree, disagree or even open their mouths, a gruesome, inhuman howl was heard in the distance...

They all burst into laughter. Siegfried knew that this was the only way to lift the spirits of his fellow travelers. He knew that scared Travelers are the main target of the Unholy. They can smell fear thousand of miles away.
"I've been here. In my dream. I know this place. Everything has been reversed. The unharmful has become the deadly. So don't touch anything" Siegfried says.
"I say we march on, until the sun sets." Lucas suggests.
"It doesn't turn dark here" claims Siegfried.
Tycho jumps in. "WELL MR BIG SHOT WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?"
"I say we camp. Gather ideas. That howl you heard. It's not of our know world. It's unholy. It's something you cityfolk would call a "Daemon". It speak an unknown tongue. It howls like a pack of woolves. It has magic far beyond anything you've seen. We must somehow evade it."

Another howl was heard, this time much closer. "I think it's coming for us" said Tycho with fear in his voice. "We should find any books here and move on"
"Speaking of that" said Tyrael, "how many books were thrown into the void in the first place?"

"Help me! HELP ME!"
A young girl was running towards them.
Tycho was just about to run and help the girl, when Siegfried stopped him.
"This is just the thing I warned you from. Watch."
The little girl had come nearer.
Then, Siegfried said with a soft voice:
"Hello little child. Why don't you come nearer, so we can help you."
It seemed the child had just been waiting for that, because suddenly it started to smile evilly.
Siegfried wasted no time. He swung his axe into the air and slashed the kid in two.
The whole party cryed out hystericly but stopped when they saw the daemon's evil spirit evade from the corpse.
"As I said. These creatures are unholy. They'll trick you in every way they can. Your white magic can't always protect you. You must look straight into their eyes. You can sense their evil. I lurs deep inside their eyes. I'm trained enough to see it. Follow me. The Daemons know where we are. We must go to the 1. stronghold immediately." said Siegfried.

Black beard Tycho while he is a big mouth he is not scared easily. He has been living in the forests north of the Pynx for almost 12 years! With the undine fortresses and the cave with the hydra and pylops around him, I don't think he would be afraid of a daemon. So please, be more carful when your writing what I do.

"I know a spell that can turn people into a ghost like state for a short time. Unfortunatly It can only turn the caster into a ghost and noone else"
"Why don't you teach it to use then?" Asked Lucas.
"I don't know how to teach other people how to use a spell. Trust me if I couls teach it to you I would." Tycho paused "Wait, I think I saw that spell in one of the books that was thrown down here if we could find it..." Tycho is inturpted by a howl that seems to shake the ground.
"I think we should do something about this daemon NOW before it comes any closer" wispers Siegfried for fear that the daemon might hear him"

"Wow. There really is a whole 'nother world here. Kinda sneaks up on you though."
"Zephyr!" yells a figure a bit to the south of him.
Zephyr runs over to see...
Rulir?
"Hello Zephyr." 'Rulir' says in a daunting, monotone voice.
"Uh... Rulir. What are you doing? I thought you went down the hole in the Tavern."
"Did I?" he says in that same monotone voice, almost more of a statement than a question.
"Yeah... you did. Look, I left Avatara to run to Tavern, now where are the others?" Zephyr asked.
"Others?" 'Rulir' says in the same statement-like voice.
"Yeah, Lucas, Tyrael, Tycho, and that big guy they were walking with down the road..."
'Rulir' just stares at Zephyr blankly.
"Look, let's just go look for them." Zephyr says.
'Rulir follows him as they walk off in search of the group.

With a wave of his hand the chaotic swirl of the void stopped, and a crystal-clear view of the ancient library came into view. Tyrael stepped through, and the void returned to its usual state.
