Excuse me, but what is this Karma thing below everyone's location? I seem to have noticed that the moderators—and ONLY moderators— all have the word "Blessed" by thier "Karma" rating, while regular members all have "0" What's up with that?

I have yet to see what andrew's Karma rating is.

It seems to be a new rating and auto-ban system from Ambrosia. A moderator can raise or lower your "karma". If it gets below a certain point, you are auto-banned. I saw someone who wasn't a mod, but had 3 karma.

As moderators, we can give you good karma if we like your posts, and give you bad karma if you post obnoxious crap. Karma has a range from -10 to +15, with 0 being neutral. If your karma should happen to fall below -10, you will automatically be banned until such time that your karma rises above -10. If karma is negative, it will go up by one point every 25 posts. Spamming to raise your karma is a useless endeavor, however, due to the fact that it will cause us to knock your karma down faster than you can raise it up. Since moderators are the ones who assign karma, it's pointless to have us rated by karma.

This system has been set up in order to praise people who make thoughtful, intelligent posts, and hopefully to encourage troublemakers to knock it off.

Yes, I agree that it's a good system. It will make banning more of a reality, and make spammers think twice. Also, it's another thing to brag about. Posted Image

Yeah, it gives us moderators some real power. Now not only does Andrew have a little more free time (not as many requests to ban people), but responsible moderators can also have some power behind them to back them up when members of the local community are threatened. If you understand what I'm saying...

That would be the button where we adjust your karma.

Absolutely nothing. Although you'd be a more serious candidate for moderatorship yourself if you got your karma that high.

We raid your house and drag you to the Ambrosia dungeon because its too difficult to be good enough to reach a karma of 15 for any mortal.

When did you become a mod,GlueBubble? And another question, how come the karma button on all the mods posts is a button you can't click,or is it just a little darker than the karma buttons on the regular members posts?

Because the mods karma is blessed!
Or in some circumstances, divine.

Tell me what is higher than "divine" and I'll talk to andrew about it.

*You'll notice some people's karma on Cythera is increasing, due to their "excellent" input.*

I go away for a week and miss my chance at easy karma (which, by the way, I think is a good idea, it gives posters a greater reason to not spam)
*sigh*
I guess I'll have to earn my karam the hard way. Posted Image

On a different note, who else thinks that the "confused" smiley should be changed. I mean, Posted Image doesn't really look good or anything.

Also, have we always been able to delete our own posts?
