If you want to do things the hard way and discover them all, yes. However, Slayer's Site has all of the combinations.

Not completely random.....it helps if you pay attention to what happens when you press what. Otherwise, you can't press buttons a _long_ time.

And so the problem remained; lots of people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans. - Douglass Adams

Odd... I can't find it either. I remember seeing all the combinations there, maybe it was on the webboard.

dude... the combinations are on the stone blocks right by each door. It's just a matter of knowing what pressing the top buttons on the strange device will do. The answer to your question is no, it's not random. You click until you have a matching part, then you move on to the next button. That's not random....

If I remember correctly, the middle button controls the ones marked in X in a repeating pattern type thing:
O X O
X X
O X O
The left one controls the following:
X O O
X O
X X O
The right controls the following:
O O X
O X
O X X
------------------
The One And Only:
~Theo Nean Donly~
O X O
X X
O X O
The left one controls the following:
X O O
X O
X X O
The right controls the following:
O O X
O X
O X X

Hmm....I don't think so. I think that there must be more combinations than that, and I would swear that one button controls more than one row....but then, I haven't played in awhile.

I believe that too.

It's supposed to be like this, ignoring the _
(middile button)
O X O
_X X
O X O
(Left)
X O O
_X O
X X O
(right)
O O X
_O X
O X X
The stupid space deleating thing ruined my post above.
And yes, I'm sure that this is right. I'm NOT saying that to push the button on the right will always turn the Xs to their opposite, I'm saying that it controls those Xs and that if you push that button enough it will come out with all the different possabilities in of those Xs.

This is not correct - the middle button can change any of the bottom items, not just the middle one. This device is based on a cherished childhood toy of mine...
(now, why I'm playing with strange Seldane based objects as a child probably goes a long way to explain why I'm the way I am today)
