And so the problem remained; lots of people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans. - Douglass Adams

*hands theKestrel his medicine. As Kestrel raises it up, ready to take it, it shimmers. An illusion! was all theKestrel had time to think of, just before it changed into a tavern, and collapsed on him.*

A distant mage was watching this incident and decided to intervene before it really got bad. The support that was falling towards Avatara's was instantly changed into a bottle containing a note. The note told of a wonderous treasure in the far mountains that would give any man the power that he craved but with only one catch, he would have to fetch the prize alone, for if he went with another, extreme greed would tear the friendship apart and they would be banished into the high mountains forever.

Avatara packs his climbing gear and heads up north to the treasure mountains. It was then he looked over the warning on the scroll that he recieved earlier. It told of other dangers than pure greed. One of the dangers was the spider's knoll which had to be passed through to even hope to get the treasure. The spiders there were about 10 times the size of a man and could tear up an unattentive visitor to their realm. The next of the dangers was the Icy Caverns which you needed to pass through. This held such beast as the evil ice Knarls (bear type monsters which attacked at sight) and Blue Dragons. Following this came the valley of the unknown. This valley is a long evacuated town where ancient beasts such as Raptors and Triceratops roamed freely. It warned of the ferocious Red Dragon clan that lived so close to the treasure that any who even got close to it, died because of the dragons. It then elaborated about the cavern in which the treasure was found. This cavern hosted a pair of Black Dragons, the most vile, evil, and strongest dragons around. The final test for the one to try for the treasure was to defeat these vile beasts and to take the treasure. Then it was to go back down the mountain, being careful of all the dangers, and living to tell about it, which nobody had yet. Once Avatara read this, he realized that the journey would be impossible for only one person alone. He decided to split the treasure between himself and all the people who went along the entire way.

Avatara went back into town to fetch a few warriors to assist in this mission. He found theKestral in the streets and asked for his assistance. Kestral, thinking this was a ploy fo another brutal attack, wouldn't believe him. Avatara eventually got him to agree to come along. Another person, a warrior-mage by the name of DF (hehe) was also asked to join. After a few minutes time, DF got his gear together and joined this troop of adventurers on their journey. Avatara knew he needed more to assist but he couldn't think of who. This journey would have to wait for a few more brave men (and/or women).
