I finally got the strange device and I've gone the the cave way up north of Cademia, but I don't know how to make the damn thing work! I've pushed the buttons at the top, but it doesn't change the pattern. What's up?

Do you have both halves of the strange device? If so, you need to make the pattern on the device and the one on the altar match up.

And so the problem remained; lots of people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans.

Having both halves might help. I got the one under the magisterium, but I don't know where the other half is.

The strange device doesn`t have two or three pieces. Only one and it is found under Pnyx!

If I am thinking of the right thing: Double click on it, use it, whatever, just get it to appear big. Press the three buttons on top until the pattern on the strange device looks like the pattern on the altar thing, then it will open.

Hmm.....I seem to remember that there was some bug where the device wouldn't work. Try searching around on http://www.macclassi...era/cythera.htm I think that is where I saw it.
