hey i see you are on.

And so the problem remained; lots of people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans. - Douglass Adams

Nothing has changed from the stated posts of the past (do a search on this forum for posts with my user name for all the gory details), but basically:
There is no currently developed "Cythera II" project, though code has been written that may (or may not) be used in it (if it ever happens), and the basic plot has been designed.
The current Delver architecture does not support general plugins (well, parts of it does, parts of it don't), though it may be possible to have special modules with certain restrictions (being completely separate areas).
The current editor would require a complete re-write to make it a supportable product, and if released in its present form, would make it trivial to bypass the "verify registration" checks present in the game.

"Basic Plot"?
Is it anything like the stories that have been written?
If the Delver engine itself can't support plugins very well, I guess I'm okay with them not being there. Still, starting work on a Cythera II would be very cool. I think it would be popular if: there were more quests + splits in the quests, and more items (especially unique ones). Better graphics would be nice, and definitely make it more popular. However, I kind of like Cythera's current graphics. They're very quaint.

No. It will involve the Undine, but it will involve some very big events..

One distinct advantage that the current graphics has is that it is very clear what objects are - they all have nice black borders, etc... Not some sort of blurred "photorealistic" things (try to identify any of the smaller icons in OS X column finder view - it's hopeless).
Also, the current view keeps "north" as "north", not "up and to the right" (that isometric has), though isometric graphics look better in general. Both views have thier strengths and weaknesses.
The biggest problem, though, is finding the time and energy to work on anything...

Can you find Larisa again? Or was this a lead-up to Cythera 2?

I agree that the graphics are easy to see - that's one of the reasons I like them.
Maybe Larisa gets kidnapped by Seldane? Nah, probably not.
