You just type in "Hector" in the message field.

And so the problem remained; lots of people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. Many were increasingly of the opinion that they had all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that the trees had been a bad move and that no one should ever have left the oceans.

There are more than one way to attack the ruffian in the farmhouse.
1.Just click and hold on the ruffian until a menu comes up, then select "attack". Afterwards, just double-click on him to attack.
2.Type "a", then click on the ruffian.
3.(most effective)Cast the "death strike" spell you found in your desk in LandKing hall (cos you found it, right?). It only has one use but later in the game you get it again and then it can be learned and used multiple times...
BTW, the Directed Nexus spell you found together with the Death strike (and a few others) can be used more than once

I never did it, but you can probably go to Pnyx and talk to the Headmaster and get your grimoire. Then you could use the grimoire on the scrolls, and you will know them for whenever you want them.

Death Strike requires a lot of mana and casting...I prefer to do the Ariadne mission first and get Death Strike later. I don`t think you need the Death Strike for anything else until you get to fifth degree hall.

Sure, sounds good to me.....although I know that you can kill him with just Hector and yourself, and I was some branch of wizard, so if you are a warrior or something, I am sure you will do better.

Save it before you try, because even if you are a warrior it's almost impossible to beat it on the first try. It takes alot of luck.
However, I found that if you also get Mealeger(how is that spelled?) by useing the forty oboli from your room and then getting ten more by gambling, it is much easier to beat him.

I don't think they do anything except look scared if you ask about Tavara or other things along that line.
