You use the two-piece Crolna on the sign outside of a lake. The lake has a small island in the middle, and a path will be made to it.
I've never tried this, but I think it works as I've heard from a number of places.

Once you're on the little island, use a shovel and dig around until you find a tunnel. Bring some smith's friend or gator boots with you.
