Earth Elemental

So, give it to me straight, no hints, just the facts, ma'am:
What is the Earth Elemental? Where is it to be found?
The purpose of this quest is to progress in Charax's research. I hear chatting with the Earth shall progress.

I hope that's straightforward enough. If not, let me know and I'll try again.

I have actually passed that. I didn't realize the Seldane were referred to as the Earth. It is not this mission I have trouble with, but the one immediately following it. Charax tries the distiller with the kelp, something goes screwy, and he starts inspecting it. Forever.
My REAL question is this: How to stop him from this and keep the mission going? Include all details -- there are always ignoramuses here (like me).

END OF GAME
That's how I (think) I remember it any way

The distiller is supposed to 'go screwy'. Try using the distiller to distill the crolna.
Yes, I realize it's supposed to go screwy. And I finished the game months ago. Now I'm trying to go further into the plot by getting Charax to stop researching what went wrong.
In short: what triggers Charax to stop researching? How?

He won't stop researching. Basically, the wine mission comes to a complete stand still here. Apparently the purpose of having you attempt to solve the problem with the wine is to get Charax to put both elements in the distiller so that you can use it on the Crolna. The wine contract mission cannot be completed. It didn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense to me either.

Sorry i just had to say that.
He sounds like a pretty determined guy. The only thing that could stop him is either his answer or death. But to further the plot I suspect he has to be alive, so if you ressurected him afterwards, he would still try to figure out what went wrong.
Sorry that was an obvious answer, but it seemed to tie in with killing demodocus.

So, what you're saying is that Charax (damn, almost said Croax ) has no purpose in this game once you have reached this point?
And so, this leads to the obvious question: what now? Charax is worthless, I have been there done that, and I am left wondering how this wine thing progresses. Provide my next step, and nothing more. Thanks.

drink,
and may confusion be cast forever on.
Not exactly sure if this is relevant, but seeing as how I madi it up, it probably doesn't mean anything.
You know (just a figure of speach, you obviously don't know), its suprising how many people find elightenment within my words, as they are complete and total nonsense. Heck, this paragraph alone should tell someone what to buy their mother for christmas!
I wouldn't try to find in meaning in what I say, since I have almost no clue what you are talking about. I haven't ever seen charax's mission, or tons of other stuff. But, go ahead, it just might give you omniscience.

The point Zelda was trying to make is that there is no further to go with the wine mission. It is a red herring mission, the only purpose of which is to lead you to the point of being able to distill the Crolna.

So, in other words:
There's nothing more to be done? Everything has been seen? Alaric shall take care of everything else? Well, then...
How absolutely, utterly unsatisfying.
Ah: and Croax...I hate to criticize, but if your post isn't relevant to the topic at hand (ie mine), don't post.

I agree. I did like this game and would recommend it if someone asked me...but boy, if there was something I could change about it, it would be all the dangling threads left at the end of the game. It was a let down!!!

I'd call a plumber to fix Glenn's sink if he would churn out a sequel faster, if at all. I hope he doesn't stop in the middle of work with it like those "Dawn of Power" plug-in (EV) developer's did. That really pissed me off. I'll even pay for the roof shingles he needs to fix, too. If there is a sequel, it looks like it's gonna be good (read Neleneus 3).
