OK, so I'm on that mission where I'm supposed to take the flowers to that guy's mother's grave, right near the beginning of the game... But I forget about the mission, and I see the flowers in my inventory, and, not knowing why they're there, I drop them. Oops. Later, I remember the mission, and go back to where I dropped the flowers, but they're gone. So I take some random flowers that look just like them off of some table in LandKing Hall. I put them on the grave, and go back and talk to the guy, but it still says I haven't completed the mission. Is there any way I can possibly complete it now? If not, what happens when you do complete it? Anything important? Or should I just forget about it?

I think you needed the flowers that were given to you. It's not really an essential mission. You get some experience for it and maybe some good feelings. Posted Image

Traipsing merrily through a spring meadow. Tossing out rose petals. Singing tralala!! I love EVERYONE!! (And Bege was afraid of my new sig. Silly Bege.)

I may be small but I have the strength of ten cats.

My BF's advice: "Take a deep breath. Step back. Count to ten. Then shut-up and LISTEN!

WRONG!!!!

This is just a really annoying bug. The mission is completed. It just won't say so. The flowers don't matter, they're all the same.

Here's another problem. Open your tasks bar. Talk to someone and while you have the option to say something, click on one of your tasks! Its reallyfun (no purpose, and its not fun).

Life is a mind altering substance. It should be considered a drug and taken off the market. Any remaining life should be confiscated.
Note:
1 Life causes your brain to function and muscles to build. It therefore should be condsidered a steroid as well.
2 Once used, you cannot stop using life until you die. It is the most addictive drug out there (excepting pokemon).

:::shrug::: It worked for me. When I went back to Hector's father he thanked me for putting the flowers on the grave and I got experience. I have heard of missions not being checked off, but not this particular one. It also made a great deal of sense that you would have to use the flowers that were given to you, not just any old ones you find. But this I do not know for sure and I have no desire to test it. Posted Image If you say the mission didn't work for you, how do you know that any flowers would do?

At any rate, the point is that the mission isn't all that important. Nothing earth shaking will be missed if you don't complete it.

Tried again when it didn't work. The second time I still used the wrong flowers, but it got completed. If you're really in a fix, I think you can move the flowers from another grave to the one you want.
