Yes, that's the vanishing fort. Yes, the crystal ball is the only thing there.

There is one more thing here as well, unlimited experience points (in only a short time). Once all the nasties are dead, go into the center room - at this point, I only had Hector and Timon with me - kill the lich (Hector and Timon should be stuck in 'attack target' mode at this time) and then walk out and shut the door (don't 'r'egroup). Walk out of the inner ring, then take a walk once or twice around outer ring. Undead should be everywhere, but they all go after Timon and Hector (who are safely tucked away in the center chamber). Step just inside of the inner ring door (one step south, even), and use the 'a' button and 'space' button to bring them undead rahight to ya! (It's like watchin' NASCAR, only ya git ta kill 'em - the Undead 500). When they're all dead (wait...what? ), take another walk around the outer ring (next to the wall so the undead don't hinder you) and go inside the inner ring again and hack away! I got 10,000 points only a short while. Hope it works for you
btw, keep daggers clear of the doors, otherwise the doors get stuck
Oops, forgot one thing, try to get Timon and Hector as close to the throne wall as possible.

You MUST know and have magic to use the ball. About six MP (Magic points) are required for each use. The ball will give you an overhead veiw (like farsight potion). The ball does have limited uses, so use it wisely.

It detects secrets.

Slayer, do you mean that the purple crystal ball from the fortress that doesn't vanish detects secrets? If so, is it the same kind of 'dectect secrets' that you can learn from Meleager or something different? I was sorry that I took it because I thought that it had something to do with all of those lichs coming out of nowhere. And besides, it kept sapping my magic points for nothing apparent. Can I ditch the thing, or will I need it later?

The purple ball works like the spell 'detect secrets'. I never got much use out of it, so don't worry too much if you threw it away.

The Purple and Blue balls are worthless. Just learn awareness and learn farsight or alchemy. The Green ball was the only one I could put to use.

That made me think of something. Are there only the three crystal balls? Green, purple, and blue? Or are there more? What about that one that is concealed behind the wall in LandKing Hall that you can see with the green one?
