Seldane won't come out to play!

I heard that the Seldane leader teaches me the Seldane language. How do I get into the room he is in? If I need three peices of the Crolna, how do I get to the stairs in the swamp ruins? And what is the answer to that second riddle (I tried AIR, but it didn't work)?
