How do I get Meleager to teach me awareness? It happened to me once before, but I don't know how. Also Neoptolemus (the bum) won't train me. How do I "Get some respect." Does persuasion really help in the game though?

Keep trying. There's a point in the game where he will finally teach you, I don't know if there's a trigger for it or not. All I know is that he doesn't teach it until later on in the game.
Persuasion can be useful if you're bartering for something. It can also help persuade someone to talk to you when they didn't want to. You have to listen to the beggar's story and give him just the right response everytime. If you make even one mistake you have to start all over again. It's helpful to write it down as you're making responses so that you can remember what worked and what didn't. If you need a complete spoiler as to the order of the responses..post again.

Traipsing merrily through a spring meadow. Tossing out rose petals. Singing tralala!! I love EVERYONE!! (And Bege was afraid of my new sig. Silly Bege.)
I may be small but I have the strength of ten cats.
My BF's advice: "Take a deep breath. Step back. Count to ten. Then shut-up and LISTEN!

I listened to his story but he just told me, hmm, reminds me of a story. Do I have. With I guess that I can just sleep for a few days until he teaches me, because the game does keep track of the days (note your journal). Thanks.
PS-I've been having a problem lately. Whenever I type something into this text box, it always appears in password dots. Is this happening to you guys? Do I tell David Dunham?

Right...you have to hit a certain order of responses each time or he will either start all over again or tell you to get lost. So..you're not hitting the right responses. When you get sent back to the beginning, you responded wrong. Go back to that point and try a different response. You STILL didn't come out and ask for a spoiler. So I'll assume you still want to keep trying. (You have to be specific with me, I'll only give you information that you ask for. I've been so peeved off with people who give me tons more than what I ask for when I've been stuck)
As for the text problem, I've never seen such a thing. I guess I would mention it to Ambrosia, yeah. Does it cause any problems for you?

I don't seem to be having the problem today David, I think that either I didn't trigger it or that the site update may have helped. Did you get my file with the duplication bug thingee (Jackal8960@aol.com)? I was able to trigger it again for some reason, again I don't know why. (The site update is groovy)
