When you find Eioneus, ask him about Oboloi. He'll talk about how he doesn't quite know how they can forge coins the way he can forge steel... There's got to be some kind of magic involved in it...

Then, if you talk to the blacksmith in the most northwest building in Cademia, he doesn't say much...

Is there anything you can say or do to get Autonous to talk?

No. I just naturally assume that people who seem to have a reasonable importance (this is kind of a carryover from an the pre 1.0.3 versions of the game, where everyone would tell me that Halos lived and worked in this house), and who are initially unwilling to talk about anything can generally be convinced to tell you something...
