Well, I can't get Prusa to give me the book, but I really want to be an 8th degree mage before I end the game. What is the password to the Eighth degree hall?

The password alone won't do you any good. Selinus has to give you the password. If you don't believe, start a new game and try your fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh level passwords on the doors.
