We set out for Pnyx later that day, the reluctant mage and I. I had tried to explain that I wasn't ungrateful for him saving my life.
"It's like this - you saved my life, but I was on a mission to save another person's life. If you don't help me save his life, he'll die - and then you haven't saved any life at all. Do you get it?"
"Eh. What?"

Most of the morning was spent on horseback while I tried to explain how I reasoned. Without much effect, I'm sorry to say.

The road ran straight as an arrow towards the legendary Pnyx. I'd heard many stories and rumors about the place. This was the first time for me to visit it.

At Pnyx, bad news awaited us. The bandits had been there and had left. They had come to pay for some lessons and then they quickly had left again. The weasel had been taught some spells. The monk I spoke to declined to tell me what kind of spells. "It's our vow of discretion, you know." Contemplating whether I should give him some physical arguments, I suddenly felt very tired. "Oops, time for your vitamins," said Ferazel and chanted a spell with raised hands.

I was once again invigorated. I felt strong and energetic. I felt like I could take the measly monk and hold him above my head.

Perhaps he saw that in my eyes because he added hurriedly: "They left for the Temple of Scylla!"

Damnation! The sands of time flowed quickly. My master hadn't many days left to live, unless I managed to pay off his debts.

"We'll ride to the Temple."
"Wait a minute. I've got duties to attend to, and scholary studies at the library, and..." Ferazel protested.
"You've given me your word as a mage, you're bound to keep that promise."

"But..."
"No but. Let's ride."

(To be continued)

This one seems a little short. I think you should probably spend a little more time on your stories, rUmbler.

Nag, nag. Is nothing good enought for you Slayer? ;-)

when I'm finished with Ambush I'll post another story with fewer and longer chapters.

Pretty good. Quite short tho.

*Sigh* should I submit more of Once Again, Slayer? It's not much fun to fix up that story...
