Stones fell down on the already large pile of rocks that had buried the Undine champion, hopefully forever. Congratulations and shaking of hands accompanied by laughing and smiles in the party lasted for about five minutes, before they went into the room again to check out the damage done. "Well, he's dead now," said Rogan as he kicked a small stone across the room. Rogan powered up the embrightment spell, and they started to search the room for traces of Tavara's book. "We are so close now," Talos said with excitement, "I can feel it." However, after fifteen minutes of detailed and intensive searching, they were not able to find anything of importance.

"Well, maybe we should investigate that side passage over there," suggested Jack. Talos nodded and walked towards the passage with his scimitar drawn and the others close behind. The passage was as narrow as the ones near the cave entrance. Of course, this did not stop the men from searching it out, and upon realizing that the passage extended inwards, they began to walk into the darkness. Swearing was heard as Rogan cut his shoulder on a sharp stone, and some small stones fell from the ceiling, hurting the ones without helmets. Five minutes later, the passage seemed to disappear into another large room. "Strange design on these Undine tombs," said Jack as he let his eyes examine the room.

No other visible entrances to this room were present. The room was covered with some kind of stone plates on both the floor and ceiling and with pillars on the sides. In the middle of the room was an altar, surrounded by fout lit torches. The opposite wall had strange signs, possibly runes, on them and pictures of something similar to an Undine. The air was humid and almost very irritating, since the moisture made everyone sweat and reduced the breathing capability. Also, a small stench of rotting corpses was present. "Nice little place," Ferazel said, sarcastically.

"Now, this is the final room, I am certain," said Talos with great eager. The men approached the altar, and felt the warmth of the torches on their skin as they came closer. When they were so close that they could look down into the altar, they noticed a dark red liquid floating in it. "This is beyond my knowledge about the Undine tombs," said Talos, "I wonder what it could be?" In spite of objections from all party members, Ferazel quickly put a finger down in the liquid and said, "well, it's cold...very cold. In fact..." he could not say more. "What is wrong?" Jack and Rogan asked simultaneously. Ferazel did not answer. He just stood there, completly still. Talos touched his shoulder with his right hand, bud removed it fast as Ferazel's body was boiling hot. "What the devil..." said Rogan, and touched him with a finger. He drew back his arm quickly, hitting Jack in the head with the shoulder.

Suddenly, something even more unexpected happened. Ferazel quickly jumped and turned around. Before anyone could do anything he pushed Rogan and Talos aside, leaving black marks of his palms on their armor. Ferazel ran towards the southwest corner of the room, and didn't stop before he met with the wall, quite painfully. Then, he just sat down with his head buried in his hands, muttering something.

"Hmm...strange. Unlike anyhing I've ever seen," said Talos and approached the frightened mage. "Can you hear me, Ferazel?" he said, loudly. No answer. After a few minutes of silence, Ferazel started to mutter again. An old language, something that was impossible to understand. Talos tried an excorsism spell, but could only confirm that it wasn't a demon that had invaded Ferazel's body. Silence again. After another few moments, the others approached him, and whan they were close enough, they could hear him muttering the word "Kompera" over and over again.

"Kompera!" said Talos. Ferazel looked up on him. "Kompera was the brother of Kushluk, the one who got the letter from Tavara! Looks like his brother, Kushluk, was the guardian of the book." Without a sound, Talos went over to the altar and gave it a powerful kick. The altar's upper part cracked and fell down, and red liquid poured out on the floor. Seconds later, the liquid vanished, leaving only burned floor plates. At that same second, Ferazel chilled down and got up on his feet. Looking around for a while, he asked: "What is this? What happened?" "You...let's just say that you gave us a kicking idea," responded Rogan and chuckled.

When they took a closer look at the altar, they could see some kind of hole where the top used to be. The hole was shaped in a special way and with special patterns, like something was to be used as a key there. "What is that?" asked Talos. "Looks like some kind of keyhole," Jack responded, "but where is the key?"

"It has to be here somewhere. Let's look for it," Ferazel suggested.

Another good chapter, Rogan. The end seemed a bit abrupt, though.
