"Hey! My friggin' ring is gone!"

Those were the first words out of Zephyr Sigma's angry face when he woke up to find several muddy footprints and one less ring than was there the night before.

"Ooh, just when I-" followed by a few choice words that came shortly after.

Zephyr looked down at the footprints once he had regained his sanity (a product in short supply these days), to see that they were much larger than Milcom's.

"Well, at least that lousy smith didn't take it."

Seeing that it was fairly wet outside, Zephyr realized that someone would have had to be a little on the stupid side to walk in mud when there was a dry stone trail to his room.

With a groan, he got dressed in his armor, picked up his sword, and marched out. Leaving some money on the bed, of course.

The trail of footprints led on another mud puddle where the same set of footprints continued.

"I'm either dealing with the smartest thief in the world..." the sentence was continued by more choice words and the word 'stupid' was involved.

The trail of footprints went from mud puddle to mud puddle until Zephyr saw something on the road just ahead...
Boots? There were a pair of boots with the soles worn out and covered with mud on the side of the road.

At first Zephyr thought this to be a crafty move, until he noticed that the thief had decided to continue walking in his bare feet on the path, now leaving a rather recognizable trail of mud and blood (not a lot, just little bits).

To make this even more bizarre, it seemed it was fairly hot out when the thief had gone by, making him choose the nice cool mud instead of intelligence.

Zephyr was more in a good mood now, seeing that he would have no trouble in tracking down this fool.

Around the next turn, Zephyr saw what made him in an even better mood.

Garcyn Flaggolfof. The single stupidest thief ever to live. If you don't believe me, read his doormat:
"Come inside and leave your money to make my job easier!"

The only reason he's ever managed to steal anything was because the one thing he ever legitimately stole was a book that teaches you how to unlock doors.

I rest my case.

Zephyr calmly walked up to him.

"Hello Garcyn." He said with a hint of frustration.

"Zephyr Sigma? Gee whiz when was the last time I saw you!" (The error in punctuation isn't an error, he really said it that way)
"When I spared your life in return for me never having to lay eyes on you."

"Oh yeah, but... in all fairness, you did come here right?"

"So it would seem," said Zephyr, now getting really frustrated, "now what about the ring you stole from the Tavern in Odemia?"

"Y-y-y- yours?"

"Yes."

The frightened thief ran into his cave and came out with a little box.

"H-h-h- here it is Mr. Sigma, see? I even put it in a pretty little box for ya!" he said, in a moment... err, state of panic.

"Alright," said Zephyr as he took the box, opening it to make sure it was the same ring, "now I want you to go to King Avatara and be his Court Jester until he sees fit to throw you in a hole."

"Yes sir!" said the little man with a salute.

Zephyr walked off down the path. Realizing he wasn't that far from the Pnyx, he headed that way.

(A little relief from the idiots that surround me on a daily basis. Hope this is a bit amusing)

Another funny story. I hope to see it continued.
