My eyes examined the area for a brief moment, and I realized that Eldargon had vanished. He was no where to be seen. However, my thoughts changed when I saw that Kestrel was knocked down by the cloaked creature. Slayer sent a fireball after the creature, but he avoided it with ease. Kestrel suddenly jumped up, shook his head and smashed his sword Belenov into the creature's blade. The creature responded with a swing aimed directly at Kestrel's spleen, but it missed and cut his belt off instead. Kestrel threw himself against the creature with all his powers, howling and bashing at the him all the time. Kestrel succeeded in his attack and managed to keep the creature on the defensive for a short time. However, the creature was faster than him and was on the offensive again very quickly. Kestrel jumped backwards and, in a second of foolishness, threw Belenov at the creature.

This surprised him, but he ducked quickly and the whole thing resulted in Kestrel being without any weapons. Before the creature could get on his feet again, Kestrel threw a fireball at him from close range. Kestrel then fell to his knees and blacked out. I walked a few steps towards the cloaked creature, and managed to hold him down a little while longer.

Meanwhile, Slayer had the time and powers to resurrect our fallen friend, and so he did. Fanatic, severely weakened from the kill, just thanked Slayer and disappeared. We did not have the time to ask where he was headed, but I never suspected him of betraying us. The creature soon got to his feet again even though I did my best in keeping him down. Slayer rushed to Avatara and gave him some kind of potion. Avatara moved his head back and forth a few times before he carefully got to his feet. His forehead was bleeding from the unpleasant meeting with the wall.

The creature started to become too much for me alone. Therefore, I was very happy when Kestrel finally woke up. I got help from Slayer and Avatara in fighting the creature as Kestrel rested to recharge himself. About an hour later, a figure appeared in the entrance of the room; Fanatic. He was holding a strange sword, its blade black as the creature's sword. Fanatic ran across the room and got up behind the creature, who was fighting furiously against the rest of us. He slashed the thing in the back and yelled: "That'll weaken him for you! Now finish him off!" The creature fell to the ground.

At the same moment, Kestrel leaped over the creature and grabbed his sword. He was armed again, ready to resume the fight. However, his powers were weakened by the blackout, and I could see that he was in need of immediate help. I stood still on the ground, almost like I was hypnotized, until a "help me out!" from Kestrel made me wake up.

My mana was almost full again, so I powered up a lightning spell and yelled for Kestrel to get clear of the creature. Kestrel used his very last powers to jump away from the creature, and I aimed my right hand at it, unleashing a powerful lightning bolt. As the bolt hit the creature, the ground began to rumble. Small rocks fell from the ceiling, and the entire room was filled with the blinding light. In the middle of the chaos, I noticed that the creature, or something close to it, caught fire.

As the lightning engulfed the creature, Kestrel threw a fireball at it, just to be sure we had sent the creature back to where it came from (probably somewhere in the inner layers of Hell), but something very strange happened. The creature did not die! In fact, he managed to keep his footing! Kestrel reached for another spell, and threw a wall of air against him.

"Of course!" Fanatic said with a somewhat uncertain smile. "It has to be an Undine! That's why it's so strong!" As the lightning slowly died away, Fanatic charged at the creature with his sword and, when the creature was blinded by the light, managed to cut him very badly. The attack resulted in the creature dropping to the ground, seemingly dead. Some black ooze poured out of the wound. Everyone smiled, laughed and congratulated each other, but stopped as we noticed the ooze flowing back into the body.

We all heard laughter in a twisted shrieking voice. Everyone looked around, trying to find out where it came from. No one succeeded. Suddenly, the laughter turned into a dark voice. It called, "WHEN I EXPLODE, NONE OF YOU WILL EVER GET OUT ALIVE!!!" We looked at each other as the ground began to tremble. A loud BANG was all I heard before I felt a sharp pain in my head and everything went black.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the War Room.

Rogan,

I just recently had the time to read through your Undine-story. I must say that you have a better hand at describing action and combat than I'll ever hope to acquire. Very good, very energetic and action-packed.
