"Damn, my feet hurt!" Rogan complained. "Stop that," Talos answered, "we`re almost at the cavern now." He looked around and said: "Well, here it is. Inside should be another person with more information about the book of Tavara. I will go with you, of course." They approached the cavern entrance, a small passage, and the two men following them cast a simple invisibility spell on themselves and rushed into the cavern. They found some stalagmites and stalactites and rigged them into a powerful trap...
Rogan ordered his team to guard the cavern entrance. "Okay, let us go inside and see what awaits us," he said as he walked forward, into the cavern. Ferazel cast an embrightenment spell. While walking, Rogan didn't notice a thin thread about seven inches above the floor...suddenly, Jack grabbed Rogan's shoulder and pulled him backwards. "Stop!" he said, "I sense something." "Sense something?" Rogan asked. Jack pointed at the thread and then to the roof. Some stalactites were rigged to drop down if someone touched the thread. "Not very nice to get in the head," Jack said. Rogan looked down and answered: "What the devil...someone is following us, and they want Tavara's book really bad."
Ferazel rolled a boulder towards the tripwire. It hit the tripwire, and the spikes fell down, causing a minor earthquake. "That would be seriously painful," said Jack as he looked with big eyes at the spikes. Rogan looked around. "Someone with a transparency spell might be around. They can`t use it forever," he said as he leaped over the spikes. He continued further into the cave, with Ferazel, Talos and Jack close behind. His team continued to guard the entrance. The cavern seemed too narrow more and more every pace.
Talos broke the silence: "Smells damp in here." The sound of drops hitting the floor echoed deep into the cavern. Soon, the cavern was so small that they had to go sideways. And it was getting very dark. Suddenly, Rogan came to think of his embrightenment spell. "Hey, friends," he said as he turned around, "a friend of mine, Fanatic, taught me a good embrightenment spell. It gives the caster the ability to decide who is able to see it." Rogan turned around and continued: "Yes, I will cast it now. It worked very well back there in the Undine stronghold...it brings back memories..." Rogan closed his eyes for a few seconds and, suddenly, everything was as bright as day. They walked further into the cavern, the tunnel seemed to extend forever. Suddenly, the tunnel stopped and they entered a somewhat larger area. Finally, they could breathe normally again. Talos walked past Rogan and into the middle of the new room. He looked around for a few seconds and said: "This is it." Ferazel looked at him and said, doubtfully: "What do you mean with that? There are no ways out of this room!". Jack bent down and touched the floor. He then said: "Just as I expected. There is a disturbance in the ground here".
"Exactly what I meant," said Talos, "this is where we descend into the caverns leading to the well-kept secret: The second workroom of mage Tavara, which also contains the book you are seeking." Rogan grabbed a stone and threw it down on the ground. The stone went through the earthen floor and fell further down. Talos took a rope from his sack and fastened it to a stalagmite. "That should do it" he said and rolled a boulder over the floor. The boulder rolled over some loose dirt and, suddenly, the floor collapsed. Talos, Ferazel and Rogan grabbed the rope, but Jack was too slow and fell down.
