"Do you have any idea about where they took her?" Ferazel asked the guard. The guard looked down at the floor for a few seconds before he answered: "Well, you might want to try the farm where they last took her. Their motives, though, are unknown."
"Ransom notes, threats or anything else?" Rogan asked.
"We have recieved no such thing," the guard answered, "Good luck."
Rogan told Mutaro, Angus, Rongar and Lucas to wait by the town gate. "I need only Keno and Korax with me now," he said.
So they walked for half an hour in the warm weather, sweating and complaining. When they approached the abandoned farmhouse, they looked around. "Looks deserted," Keno said, "shall we take a closer look?"
Right after Keno said that, arrows came flying out of the farmhouse's windows. "Duck!" Jack cried and ducked behind a rock. An arrow hit Ferazel in the shoulder, mildly wounding him, another arrow hit Rogan right in the armour, fortunately making no damage.
The rest just hit the ground, or nearby trees. Rogan and Ferazel crouched behind some bushes, but Jack got up and prepared a powerful fireball spell. "No!" Ferazel pulled him down, "Ariadne might be in there somewhere!" Jack got up again but this time, he tried a less powerful attack: He whipped his hand in front of him, and small knives shot out of his sleeve. "Charge!" he shouted as yelps escaped from the house. They ran forwards with their weapons drawn. Keno prepared his crossbow and ran into the woods to find a good sniper position.
Rogan, currently leading the party, gave a no movement signal. "I think we should make a silent approach," Rogan suggested. Ferazel and Jack agreed. Korax said nothing. They moved towards the farmhouse silently with their swords drawn, but suddenly Korax ran in front of them as he lifted his mace high up in the air."What are you..." Ferazel yelled, but Rogan, who had known Korax for a long time, interrupted: "Let him have his fun. He hasn`t had a decent fight since the tavern three days ago." He then turned to Ferazel with a smile and said, "watch closely." The largest challenge for Korax in the upcoming fight was to smash the door. He hit it with his mace and threw it away. Screaming, and other noises indicating that his opponents were in pain, were heard from the farmhouse. Suddenly, one of the kidnappers was brutally thrown trough the wall. He tried to run, but one of Keno`s poison arrows hit him in the neck before he had the time to run. When everything got silent, the others went inside. Six men were lying on the ground, two of them with Jack`s knives sticking out of their chests. Korax stood in the middle of the room with a pleased look on his face. "What did I tell you?" Rogan said to Ferazel, with a smile on his face. They searched the bodies, shared the equipment and oboloi before they started looking for Ariadne. Keno entered the farmhouse, dropped his crossbow and prepared to pick the lock on a trapdoor in a small room. Korax, however, insisted in ripping the whole thing of its hinges. A brutal noise of lumber breaking was heard. Korax threw the trapdoor away and Ferazel jumped down in a small grotto below the trapdoor. He lit a torch, and found Ariadne tied to a pillar...
Ferazel used magic to remove the ropes and he and Ariadne climbed up a ladder leading to the small room over them. "Thank you, kind sirs," she said, "please take me back to Odemia."
"Suits us well," Jack chuckled, "that's where we're going." Rogan got a bottle of Nortshore Red from his sack and shared with everyone. Then the party took Ariadne back to Odemia, without anything interesting occuring in the half an hour walk back, and resumed their mission: Find Tavaras book...
