This story is based on the "new story" topic whose death occurred only few days ago.
However, this story is going to be different.

It was around six o'clock in the evening. The mages of Pnyx were gathered in the Study Hall, discussing spells, runes, formulas, and other things on their minds.
Mage Lucas was having an interesting conversation with mage Peisander. "So..tell me more," Lucas said.
"Well, I was reading this book in the library about mage Tavara and his spells," Peisander said,
"And it looks like Tavara had a book of spells that died with him, but no one has ever found it.
In this book stood many spells, that only the deceased mages knew, such as the golem spell."
"This is good!" Lucas answered, "Very good! I must tell this to my master Rogan at once! I am certain he shall find this book."
"It is another thing too..." Peisander reluctantly mentioned, "The book in the library told of some kind of 'power' that mage Tavara possessed, but it does not say what this power is. Maybe Rogan could have use of this information too. The book is in the library."
Lucas shook Peisanders hand and said: "Good. Thank you. I must go now to tell Rogan what I found." Lucas grabbed some flatbread and ran out of the Study Hall. The moment Lucas left, Ferazel entered Study Hall and said: "I think I know the location of Tavaras book!" Lucas turned in the doorway and walked back in. Rogan came in from another door. "Tavara's book? What? Where? When?" Rogan asked surprised. "Calm down," Ferazel answered, "I might know the location of Tavaras book...I do not remember who, but someone in Odemia knows where a cavern that leads to the area the book is located." Rogan told Lucas to gather Rogan's team and Lucas ran out and down the hallway.

Soon, Rogan and Ferazel's teams were gathered. "I believe I have heard about this man," Mutaro (one of Rogan's team members) said, "His name is Talos and he lives in the corner of town. He is quite a recluse, though".
"What are we waiting for, then?" Ferazel said with a smile on his face, "Let us head to Odemia right now!"

After half an hour of walking, something strange happened: A huge pillar of fire came down from the sky, and out of the pillar walked a mage, dressed in a brown cloak and wearing a travelling sack on his back. Ferazel recognized him fast and said: "Jack!"
Jack Frost answered: "You wouldn't depart on this most important of adventures without asking the master of the Magic Academy if he wanted to come along, would you? I'm hurt." Jack winked as he stepped into the line of adventurers.

They walked for many hours, finally arriving a few miles from the city, when a green flash erupted from the ground right in front of them. In the blinding glare a strange shape emerged from the earth and yelled.
The companions glanced nervously at each other. Who or what was this thing? The figure took a step towards them as the light died away, and its identity was revealed. Rogan, however, did not pay attention and Lucas poked him on the shoulder and pointed at the figure. Rogan said only: "What the...?" The figure was a demon. Highly unusual for a demon to roam these parts of Cythera.
Rogan drew his sword, red flames licked its blade, and Ferazel powered up his mana.
The demon held out an outstretched hand, and mumble escapes from it's blue lips.
"Speak up," yelled Jack, "Or die!"
"Don't k-k-kill me," the beast said, taking another step forward.
"Why should we listen to you? Your kind has been known for evil," answered Jack.
"I-I-I...I will kill you!" The demon was now only three strides away, and lunged for the group.
The demon fell on its knees. "What the..." Lucas said as Rogan interrupted: "What is wrong, demon? Get out of our way!"
The demon replied: "S-s-sorry! I am just a w-weak-kk demon! I c-c-cannot k-kill anyone! B-b-but I possess valuable information about the book of T-t-t-Tavara!" The demon handed Rogan a small red and blue stone before he shimmered and disappeared, leaving Rogan and the others very confused. "Well that was really something quite odd!" Ferazel said.

**two hours later**
"Halt! Who goes there?" a guard yelled from the guardhouse.
"Ferazel and Rogan," Ferazel answered, "You know us, don't you?"
The guard sighed as he said: "Well...Lady Aridane of Odemia has been kidnapped, so you may not enter. Sorry. I have my orders"
"Not again!" Rogan groaned.

Part 2 is finished already. I had almost no homework last week, and I posted part 1 a week or so ago, but Slayer submitted his Tavara story before me. So part 2 is ready.

Nice. I'm glad to see we have a Cythera Chronicles story (finally!) on time two times in a row. Looks like we might even have three!

Your version of the story is really excellent. The "new story" topic kind of died, and I'm glad someone has taken its helm. Also, a nice bit of original comedy at the end. Posted Image

I guess that`s OK.

And the Ariadne thingy was really Ferazel_09`s idea.
