Problems with Pyrrhus(sp?)

When i load the plugin(drag the icon over ares and let go) it starts up, music, amrbosia shot, then with the plugins new title screen, and then i click and again after oggling and nothing happens! I try this one more time butthis time clicking really fast and just skipping over it, but something even wrose happens, after i click out of the title screen the screen messes up, it looksl ike it was about to exit into Mac OS but then froze and colors everywhere, looked pretty cool Posted Image

, but the I want to play the plugin!!

Mac Os 9.x
Heavily Upgraded
Tons of Ram, allocated atleast 30 megs to Ares

Footsteps of Pyrrhus.

I am aware that the title-screen inverts briefly into funky colours on start-up when loading. While not quite sure of the reason, it has always uninverted and loaded fine for me. This is the first time that this problem has been reported.

Do any other plug-ins cause trouble?

I thought the plugin was corrupted the first time I started it up because of that problem, but as you said, it corrects itself in a matter of seconds. If you drag "Obish vs Elejeeetian" over Ares and crank it up, the start-up graphic does the exact same thing. Strange.

Hmm The title screen does invert then uninverts to the title screen, which looks sweet, but after that it just freezes, not even force quite works, only three figner salute(restart). I reinstalled Ares and threw away the prefs but this still happens!

All starup screens take about 1/2 sec to load.

DeathVal: Download Resedit. Copy the FOP file. Open the Footsteps Of Pyrrhus copy with Resedit, open the PICT resource, And delete the startup screen with the ID of 502. Save the file and quit. Then startup the FOP copy. See if that works.

Um, as long as thats alright with Sundered Angel...

The title screen inverts for me too, but my computer doesn't freeze - weird.

Awesome, just Awesome. The storyline is great and the graphics are even better. This is definitely the best plug I have ever seen. I love the title screen and your prolouge picts are incredible too. Anyway, thanks for making the plug and keep us posted on anything you do in the future.My computer is really screwing up. I can't see what I'm typing right now, it's like a still frame that I can only see if change the size of the window. Why is this happening? Sorry to end the message like that.

HHmm the resedit thing didn't work...DId everything right, deleted start up screen pic, saved it, and started up but now it gives me a System 41 Error Posted Image

Well, I'm at a loss Deathval. Perhaps Ambrosia's technical support could be of more help- it seems to be an isolated problem with your system which nobody can replicate.

Agreed. It can't be an Ares problem, unless the file somehow got corrupted during download, or on old version of Stuffit was used to open the .sit download file. More likely a system error than anything...

Your copy of Ares does work fine without plugins, correct Val?

I just checked FoP out and it's fun. Great use of available resources, SA, and really engaging. I especially like the plot development of the first level. Nice work.

Without plugins Ares works fine...but i jsut d/led It's War(which previously owrked) and it doesnt work anymore :-p. This is definantly weird, I'll have to ask my step-dad about it...thanks anyways guys.

The startup screen inverts because it does not conform to the colour table for the default Ares startup screen. I do not think putting your own colour table in the resource fork will fix this, but I have not tried.

The memory is faint, but I think you need to supply a color table especially for a start up screen. I'm certain I mentioned it somewhere in the docs.

Yes, it is documented that you need to include your own colour table. Unfortunately, I could find no way of converting Photoshop colour tables into CLUT resources, so I couldn't.
