The League was born on January 9, 1997 supporting only Warcraft II, but now supports multiple game ladders. We at MaG wish to bring to the Macintosh gamer as many online competitive arenas as we can, therefore we are looking at a lot of Macintosh games to determine if they are ladder-playable.
Magleague added an Ares ladder tournament several months ago. As well as the permanent ladder tournament, Magleague also occasionally hosts tournaments for the mag games. One of these will probably be held in a month or two(still need to write the Ares rules, heh)
In any case, if you have logged on to GameRanger recently, you'll see that there has been a marked decline in Ares games being played. Hopefully MAG will be able to reverse that.
To sign up for magleague:
Go to http://www.magleague...ds/MagChat.html and download the PPC b9 version of magchat.
Once you get magchat 3, open it(duh) and create a new profile in the Users menu.
Use the membership item in the Ladders menu to sign up for the Ares ladder and you're all set.
Mag games are reported by having the winner submit the game using magchat(Ladders>Submit) The loser then confirms the game(Ladders> Confirm/Delete)
So what are you waiting for Go sign up and play some ARES!!(lol)
Oh, and here's the official rules:
Quote
1. In order to be reported as a win both players must be members of this league and play the best of 3 games.
2. All levels are available.
3. If the game is tied at one all and a third game is neccessarry, capture the flag, and space warsare not allowed to be chosen as a level to play.
4. Each player gets to pick one level each in a best out of 3game. Whoever is the challenger picks the first level, the other person picks the second game, as well as thetiebreaker game if neccesarry.
5. Once a win has been declared the winner immediately submits the win for the loser to confirm. Points are automatically awarded when the loser confirms the game. Use the Submit Games page to submit wins and the Confirm /Delete Page to confirm loses. Note: if you make a mistake submitting a win you can delete your error on the Confirm/Delete page.
