He's just a small idiot. Posted Image

Anyway, let the discussions continue.

What are we discussing again?

Something about recurring baddies and skeletons in the closet that are climbing out to get us.

Mostly wild speculation.

Easiest way to find out would be just to look into the old topic and check. But I'm not really interested, so I won't.

It was actually quite interesting. It is entirely possible that the person holds and ancient grudge against Slug, festered from nearly a year of brooding. I don't suppose you remember or have ever heard of Rebel? He also went by Sumo not very long ago if I remember correctly. This was back in the days of the early Ares Board, when Slug was very talkative, Lone Igadzra and Sargantanus and SA were very much active. Ah, those were the good old days. I remember them well.

I should've played on GR more then, but I enjoyed the boards better than playing the game. Ah well. Posted Image
Memories.

You mean Laguna, not Lone Igazdra, right? Last time I checked Lone Igadzra spent most of his time on the EV boards. And there's no crime in enjoying the boards more than the game- I've kept an interest in the boards long after I stopped playing Ares on a weekly basis.

And as for my activity- I've still got that omnipresence, if not obvious omnipotence I had back then. If I'm less active, perhaps it's because there aren't too many times I have to exercise moderator powers over this civilized forum. Oh, and the fact that I'm no longer posting often several long bursts a day into the RPG.

Now there's a fond memory.

No, El spamo's quite right. Lone Igazdra, or maybe it was just Igazdra, posted here fairly frequently back then.

I seem to remember someone telling me Admiral Sargatanus was really Captain Pharris too. God knows why.

Yes, `rebel and that little prank.....infuriating child.

I stand corrected.

They just don't make 'em like they used to, do they?

Just about all of Rebel's posts were insults, and most of the rest were spam.

We've unconsciously created an etiquette of Ares multiplayer gaming, and it's one that doesn't allow for Hyperbombing Posted Image

Ah, back then it was a wild and harsh multiplayer realm. Hyperbombing was rampant, and the good townsfolk did quail in fear. You youngsters with your civilization. Us old-timers grew up in an era of lawlessness and rude nasty newbie-punks. Posted Image

Ah, yes. Those were the days. There was hardly but an Ares game but that ended with a stream of filth from your newly crushed opponent, and that assumed you had managed to chase down the little runt in the first place, or were willing to wait while your transport made the long journey to his homeworld.

I made a habit of enlightening over-confident newbies back then. Real Ares players were hard to find, and cherishable when you did.

I still haven't exacted my revenge on Ank Starrunner for hyperbombing me into submission just a single day after I started playing Ares.

Gah, idiot.

Hey, I'm a fan of Hyperbombing. Generally I'll drop out a little ways out so that I can bombard the enemy from out of range before I hyper out again, but sometimes I'll keep in while firing.

Actually, what I find most fun is Hyperchasing. It's rather hard to fly right behind a ship in Hyperspace for a long enough period to fire, but it's quite exhilarating and challenging. Especially if the ship you're chasing is simultaneously trying to chase you...
