I was just wondering what specis everyone thought was the coolest to play.

I'd have to vote for gaitori vs gaitori They're ships are so bad and it turns into a total bloodbath for both sides whenever i use em. All kinds of green and red chunks flying all over the screen. (heh i'd hate to be a pilot in one of those ships..) Posted Image It's pretty cool though.

If your talking about the coolest species to play whenever, then its the Eligteenen(sp?), extremly powerful cruiser(which can take out anything by itself) but if your talking about best species to play in game then I would choose Adumens(sp?), extremly powerful species, but if your talking about species playing online vs one another then i would choose humans vs humans, all those green lasers flying everywhere is funny. Oh and my favorite ship is the Modified Ishman Heavy Cruiser(I wonder why...)

Ishiman vs. Cantharan. But only if there are Gateships Posted Image.
otherwise Obish vs. Gaitori. I just love slaughtering those puny little Gaitori… Carriers… I have to test my piloting skills out. I'll just make a level and see my statistics on each race.

For multiplayer, I think either Gaitori vs. Gaitori or Salrillian vs. Salrillian.

"I think I have discovered the problem with humans. It is not entirely stupidity, as I once thought. It is their pigheaded and baseless philosophy: "If it isn't me, then it's opinions, feelings, and life do not matter, and it was meant to serve me." They also have this ability for creating excuses that are pointless, but they get others to believe it. A few examples: "It's only some savages. It's only five acres of rain forest. It's only one semi-truck. It's only fifty gallons of toxic waste..." After this realization, I marvelled at how humans, and the rest of the planet, have survived for so very long."

Salrilian vs. Salrilian is the most fun net game IMHO. Second would be humans vs. humans.

Try Human vs. Sals. It's fun.

What is surprisingly fun is Humans vs Ish, It puts pressure on the Ish guy, he has to go for both carriers, and make sure he has his fighters out before he goes into the fight. Once the fighters have swarmed the Humans, they start dropping fast from the turrets, but twenty fighters worth of distraction is enough time to rip up the enemy HVD and maybe take a few gunships with you if you hide behind the carriers.

By now, the humans are down several gunships, you;ve got one or two carriers in slightly less than decent shape, and a gunship or two. The Humans are working from two or three wounded gubships, and you have time to snag a few cruisers to fill in your ranks before you move in for the kill.

(Do it fast, if they get more than four or five gunships you're in a bad way.)

This requires luck and skill to pull off, as the Human Gunships are really good ships.

Pharris knows firsthand the fear felt by the Ishiman player in Humans vs Ishimans.
Of course, the fact that I have about a 15/1 record against him might be part of that Posted Image Posted Image .
[no offense Pharris, but you need to actually DO more of that stuff with the HVD]

In singleplayer: I play level 7a of the Iron fist over and over again. Am I the only one who takes on three juggernaughts plus the fleets they launch in an escort? I do have to keep switching escorts when those protopulses run out, but I usually have a kill ratio of over 20 to 1! Posted Image

Man, I love the Obish ships. :-)

Seriously. I haven't gotten that far in Iron Fist (because it keeps crashing and I'm only going to download the update now) But If I'm a bad pilot and I can take out a Cantharan Carrier with minimal loss, I think it says somehing about my skills as an Obiard.

What's also fun is when you play a newbie, make them be like ishiman or worse and make yourself audoman. Insteaed of just easily destroying them, slaughter their entire fleet with one cruiser. Posted Image They get so mad at you, and it's fun.

Umm, taking a carrier in an escort/HVC isn't much harder than taking it with one gunship or an HVD.

Depending on the races, it can be EASIER.

The Grolk and Bazidan are two of my favorite species. Obish are also cool. All the other races are interesting, but the Grolk, Bazidanese, and Obish are one of my favorites. Gatori are also pretty fun.

I know. But I have a particularly low skill level; I would lose to pretty much anyone on the webboards. To make is sound slightly more impressive, though, I think I could probably take down two or three (Excluding Salrilian, including Audemedon)

Well I usually rip it up during the first fleet engagement. Then the touble is pushing to finish off the last ship that managed to escape. It usually falls apart for me after the first engagement.

The best is Human vs Ishiman or Salrilian vs Audemedon. I like being the humans and the sals, respectively, in those cases.

Umm... If I was playing a newbie, and I were Obish, I would tell them that the Gaitori rock! It'd be a replay of, well, a lot of explosions and my only ship left unharmed. Posted Image

I played a Newbie yesterday... he was pretty stubborn- didn't play anything but human. I tried Gaitori, but still won without losing a ship. I offered Gaitori vs. Auds, but he was too insistent on human.

Talon: Open Gameranger. It's simple from there.

Tycho: There's no set time, it's just that the boards are very few people and we're usually not on. You can start a game of Ares and play people that aren't on the boards, though.
