I think some LSD would be much more effective to the general mood of this place.

Is it possible to give a server LSD?

No. Believe me, I've tried.

Yes...put it in the PCI slots, or the RAM slots if there's no PCI available.

It's fun to make this stuff every once in awhile.
I can also add things to the design, if somebody wants to make a suggestion... Speaking of which, did you spot the 42 yet?

Ya, I was looking at my laptop screen from an angle, so I noticed it (42). As for anything to add, I think SA is the one who's ideas and opinions most matter for the image.

I think it's time I roll out the new and improved Automatic Spam Gun Mark II. Instead of spaming a webboard, the Mk. II will spam a user-specified email account. All you do is input the message, address, and number of repetitions like so... Now pull the trigger and...

*SA gets 100 emails saying "lose the lock pics"*

BTW, Ava, on your sig: Ever seen an anime called 'Big O'?

Those are great....but the front end of the squid looks a bit like a sword.

Nice "42"

ok, here's the story behind this image:
[warning: not very interesting or relevant]

My first idea was to have a giant squid attacking the topic, but I couldn't find a good picture. After an hour of searching, I stumbled across a nice squid sculpture, only to realize that I didn't have a clue what I would have it attacking that could be "the topic".

Damn.

So I just put that so the side, and searched again. I found a lock on google, and I decided to just start working and figure out how to put it together afterwards.

First I cut out the squid and cleaned it up, then I added I few effects to make it look more like a neon radioactive squid. Why? Because if I didn't make it look artistic, it would look like a sculpture, which isn't what I wanted.
Once I had my squid, (which took more work than you think) I seriously decked out the lock. (also harder than you think)

After that was all finished, I had a squid, and a "squidlock". hmm...
So I rotated the lock and stuck the squid through it.

As you can see, it's the design that counts. :P

So in conclusion, I basically made it the same way SA made his atomic lock: I found some pictures on google, then modified and combined them to produce the final product.
The only difference is, I'm better at it. Posted Image

How long did it take you to become so good at Photoshop?

Also, either SA's name is James Barton, or he is leaching off someone else's photobucket.

I gradually started using it more and more over a period of two years, but it's only been in the last half-year that I've gotten good at it, mainly because I now I use it daily.

Most of the work I do is for topics on these boards... although, I probably post more pictures like this than anybody else around here. But it's really just a hobby, I don't care enough to take a class or turn it into a career.

See that Av, Mr JMAB's crafty lock picture has lead to the leaking and subsequent downfall of his secret meatworld identity! I think that you can mark this one up as a win in your advance against the atomic lock, even though I'm not sure that I'd like to see it go.

edit: Almost forgot, the Squidlock is a thing of exquisite beauty and a joy to behold. Japanese tourists will flock from miles around just to snap pictures of its sublime forms and color.

Briefly, but this original reference was for an advertizement for Evangelion.
