The title says it. For the next two plugs I'm planning, I'm going to need somebody to make some sprites. I might not need somebody else to do it for the one I'm currently working on, but for the next one, I'm DEFINATELY going to need somebody else to do it, as I'm no good with graphics.

Well, Sundered Angel is rumored to be a bit of a wiz with strata, and Slug dosen't seem to be too shabby...

Slug told me he stole those sprites... Posted Image

Hey Sundered, would you be interested in making some sprites? I'd give you credit in the plug...

Here's a tip : read the Hera docs first, and don't make them on a black background. ugh......hours of work gone.

You know, you could just run the sprite through any pic editing program and use the paint bucket to change the background to blue...

You mean, like, read a manual?!? Ugh! How self-degrading! I never read manuals! (But I think I'll make an exception in this case.)

I'm pretty good with graphics, but when part of the ship is the same colour as the background all hell breaks loose if I use the paint bucket.

Ok, I understand how to do it, but I'm no good with graphics. Posted Image

I still need someone else to do it. For the plug I'm working on right now, all I need is a picture of an Ishiman Freighter in the style that Ares likes for stations, so I can do that. For the next plug, though, almost all ship sprites will be new...

Heh, I'm ok with sprites, but they look like grey blobs. Just pick some up at any EV shipyard.

Oh, and there is an Ishiman freightor in Ares. You know... that level with the Obish Battleship?

I know about the freighter. That's the one I meant. But I don't need to do that any more, as I have decided to scrap the plug that was going to need it. And I don't want to copy other people's work for my ships. I want them freshly made, and different than anybody's seen before.

Oh, and I only borrowed the Gaitori Intercepter graphic. The Obish intercepter graphic was made with Photoshop (you can tell) and the Obish station graphic was rendered with Strata.

I wonder where all these rumours get started... Sargatanus, are you hinting at my Angel Fighter design?

Currently I am still learning Strata, and getting a little annoyed at it's lack of object manipulation capabilities. Wait a while until I say I'm ready to do graphical work again.

Damn computer crash wiped out several year's work of Mechanisto stuff. Oh well...

Expect, somewhere in the distant future, a small number of high-quality plugs to be released by me. When my life gets a little less full, I suppose.

What would be really nice would be if Admiral Grammaticus released the models for the Ares ships. That would make my life a lot easier. If he did that, I wouldn't need to get anybody else to do the sprites for my upcoming plug.

In the time since I last posted, I've created a new fighter design for what will be an entire race. It's a clunky thing, with out-of-proportion guns and obviously "tacked on" armour plating. At the rate I'm going at the moment, I might be able to churn out an entire race (Fighter—>Carrier) in two weeks or so.

Well, yes, I can. I've had several years of experience. Though at the moment I'm trying to work out a difficult spin issue which could affect how "pseudo-3D" my ships are. The ares ships are pseudo-3D, and I don't want mine to look out of place. Unfortunately, the spin action is taking place after translation, meaning- oh, but nevermind me. I ramble.

No, no, no... It's very interesting (although I can only understand half of it). Continue. It will be an educational experience...

Has anyone else here experimented with antimatter, metaballs, or collision objects? I think I'm addicted. Now, off to work on those Voyager picts.

When I initially read that, I thought you said 'meatballs'.

Actually, there is antimatter (Cantharan weapon) in Ares.
There are collision objects in Ares, explosions and tiny Zerbilites.

Im a little new to making sprites although i have
taken other sprites from games like final fantasy,
ninja gaiden, chrono trigger, etc.and tampered a little.
Anyways, does anyone know of a good program that animate
sprites? I'm an expert with paint, but that can't animate.
Oh, by the way, some one needed a ship right? Well, i can
get one from practically every snes and nes game, so let me
know.
