Is it possible? If so what should I do to get it to work

I doubt it. What I think happens is that the computer tries to link up with the base station. Hey, it might work if you were the base station...

[EDIT: Didnt read title clearly enough -- oops!]
You should be able to join games as long as the Airport network is connected to the Internet. I think the newer Airport base stations come with a firewall, so you might have to figure out how to turn that off if you wish to host games on GR.

Well, I'd assume that AirPort assigns you an IP address for use on the network, and this should be manually configurable in the TCP/IP control panel.
I've never used multiplayer outside GR, but I'm pretty sure you enter in an IP address to connect. Just use the one you entered in for the other computer.

I'm not condemning the slaughter of children or anything, but I have airport too. To my knowledge everything is *fine* until you actually try and start a game. Forgot to add that.

Sorry to post so late but I know how to do this so I felt that I needed to post here.
Open up Airport Admin Utility.
Click Port Mapping.
Click Add.
Add these:
[For GameRanger]
Public Port: 15000
Private Address: 10.0.1. [enter in your IP from the network/tcp-ip panel]

[For TCP/IP]
Public Port: 32130
Private Address: 10.0.1. [enter in your IP from the network/tcp-ip panel]
Private Port: 32130
Click OK.
Click Update.
Your done!

Better late then never.
I talked to him on AIM and told him how to set it up and it worked for him.

Because at that time I didn't know his AIM address.
