Does anybody even look at the Mission Status menu ever?

Yes, but not very often. Still a good idea to implament them anyway.
What i would like to see is better graphics for this plug-in, i've been trying to find a good site with 3d models of ST ships but so far most of them have broken download links.

Well the graphics we have are the graphics we have...

As for Status Strings I've given up on them... I worked for 3 hours even saving after I verified that each mission's strings were working and I couldn't get past mission 3 without it deleting all the previous strings... So I'll guess people will just have to pretend that the mission status menu says something if they check it.

Hmm, yes. As one of the Beta Testers I do look in here regularily to see if there's anything new afoot.

As for status strings I dont bother with them, as I could never get them to work properly. Probably lack of ability on my part, but I gave up on them after considerable effort. Lack of status strings will not have an effect the stable working of the plug at any rate, though it may annoy some of the more fastidious space heroes out there who like to know how they are doing.....

Regarding the sprites in the ST plug, I think they are fine designwise, except for the Cardassian Galor Class which is a little dodgy as it rotates. However, many of the sprites are too small, and I have pointed this out previously. If the player has difficulty in telling where his ship is, then the sprite is too small!! Can't you make them a little bigger?

I am looking forward to the next beta release...

Hmm, weird.

Anyway, I finaly did manage to access a site with most of the models with downloads that actualy worked. However, I have to figure out how the texturing works on them... But if you are interested, I could fix the models up and render it. Naturaly, the origanal makers of the models need credit and all that...

The main graphics that I have qualms with are the Galaxy, Galor class, and the Inrepid(sp).

Sorry brookveiw, finals week hit me kinda hard.

I didn't see the STARES file in your file share.

Most of the models i have are textured and ready these include:
Klingon BOP
Galaxy Class
Defiant
Galor Glass
Jem'haddor(SP?) fighter

with the rest of the models coming hopefully soon.

Thats fine... finals and others things have interfered with this plugin before, no reason that they shouldn't now Posted Image

Weird... I was sure it was up there but you're right.... It should really be there by the time the message is posted.

You have a model for every ship used in the plugin? If so would it be too much to ask to get a Aresish side view of the ships? The briefings might not seem as stale if some of the ships pointed to actually had pictures.

Thats what i'm shooting for. Make a demo breifing pic and i could maek 'em when i render the sprites. Maybe the same style of BPs from the VI plug-in?

I don't remember what the BP's form VI looked like... A serach revealed no pictures either Posted Image But if they were like the normal Ares ship pics then that would be good.

I have managed to get a few more ships done.
Akira
Nebula
Intrepid

Also the following are now in sprite form
klingon BOP
akira
jem'hader ftr

Email with the last of the graphix on its way!!!

I'm probably going to be doing some tweaking to the graphics in the future, but not for a while. It looks kinda odd having the nice ST sprites agianst the rather crappy bithrean sprites, but oh well, it'll work.

Now back to beta testing!! Or perhaps sleep...

Well, that depends on who's "soon" you're refering to. For example: My "soon" is a couple of days. The kid next door's "soon" is 10 minutes. My mother's "soon" is possibly a week. Most plug-in maker's "soon" is a few months.

To which do you match?

For the ammount of time youve been working on this you could have made 15 or 20 idendical plugs for EVO. What's the hold up?

That entirely depends on how much free time you have. Take High School+Job+Youth Activitys+Homework=Very little free time, and hardly any around my computer. I would assume brookveiw has the same type of situation.

Exactly. There just happen to be more important things in life than a Ares plugin. But with that said how about a new beta this weekend. It will have Skyfox's new ship graphics plus a few more missions and some stuff fixed. The only thing left to do after this next beta will be to think up the final mission and fix all the problems found. Then soon after that release!

Well this time I think soon will be a month at most. There really isn't very much more to do.

The next beta will be out for the testers testing pleasure in a few hours...
