I've encontered a really strange sprite problem recently in my work on Ares: Override. We are expermenting with Jumpgates as a new intresting way to give multiplayer levels more stragety but something strange is happening to the sprite.

The jumpgate object is the standare Ares object "Jumpgate non" with a new 1 frame sprite whose image is 500x500, the object has been set so that it can collide (but not bump into ) and be a destination. Here is the jumpgate normally

But when a ship "touches" the gate this happens...

I'm sure that the warping of the sprite isn't caused by the actions it has, as I have checked that already. Has anyone had anything like this occur to them, and if so have you found a solution to it?

Have you cheacked to see that you don't have it set for more frames then it has? i.e. one frame=1, two frames=2 etc. It looks as if your touch action changes to a second frame, only that hera can't find a second frame so it pulls the half of both.

NO. THERE IS NO MORE TIME, EVEN FOR CAKE. FOR YOU, THE CAKE IS OVER. YOU HAVE REACHED THE END OF CAKE.

Ah, sounds simple enough. I just hope that's the problem.

Problem solved... Apparently Ares doesn't like really large sprites... We resized the sprite to 400x400 and the warping is gone.
