I take it this is the equivalent of the Dev. Board for Ares, so here goes....
Are there any NovaTool-esque editors for Ares? What about plain ol' Templates? Anything that could let me view the sprite files is what I'm looking for....

*ResEdit is not really a choice
I made a template for the races once, but you really can't do anything decent with it, since the resources are too complex.
------------------
* Dark Side: Gates gives $100m to fight HIV, $421m to fight Linux, Thomas C. Greene, The Register, 11.13. $100m over 10 years to fight AIDS in India; $421m over three to fight Linux. Priorities.

hera is the GUI editor for ares scenario files. It's included in the Ares 1.2.0 folder, oddly named "hera"
If you want to somehow copy the sprites, you'll either need to:
1. write a SMIV display plugin for ResEdit
2. write an application that can read and display SMIV resources
3. copy them frame-by-frame using screenshots from within Hera or ares.

look! its a signature!
