Though I'm creating a topic purely for purposes of spam, I think it's worth mentioning that I've completed the last beta of SETR.

Patrick: I thought pornographic briefings were somewhat unsuitable for an Ares plugin.

OK feedback.
I grabbed it yesterday, nice smooth download.

Here's what I think:
I'd call it an Alpha rather than a Beta. It helps when the player knows what is expected of them, even in a training scenario.
Ships are too small. A pity as the sprites are very well designed, from what I can see of them.
The missions are either too difficult or too easy!
The weapons are too puny on some of the ships. Large warships should be better equipped than they are.
Weapons ordanance sprites are too indistinct, making for confused and difficult gameplay.
The explosion sounds are too dominant throughout the gameplay.

OK, downloaded it yesterday, and I like it a lot. The graphics are good, the concept interesting- it works radically differently to Ares- and the overall execution is good. OK, so it has difficulty problems, but that's what beta testing is all about. If I had time, I'd go through it all.

Don't scrap it, Joveia. The number of people you see here does not represent the number who download and enjoy a plug-in, not by a long shot.

Yea, don't give up now, you've come too far to abandon this project.
Please, Please keep going.

Machine gun: i think it little a little too slowly. Rat..tattat......rat..tatat. Or is it more of a tank caliber gun that takes a long time to reload? If so i think it should cause a little more damage.

Make Take away, Vital Dust, Slipstream more easy?
When i look for the right kind of mission, i like to be tricked into thinking that the level is easy. Then a suprize is pulled on me and i lose just a hairs breath from victory. I just didn't have that hope in Take away, Vital Dust, Slipstream. You get beat right from the start.

Other then that everything is fine.

Death then.

Oh btw, if anyone can't beat Vital Dust and Slipstream, they're a complete f---ing moron. In that case, how far did you get in Vital Dust and Slipstream?

I never post here, except I want to tell you to keep working on this. It's great to play, although I echo what other people have said on the difficulty of some levels. Some just give you no chance to win atall, whil eothers you can complete easily.

I look forward to the next beta.

Vital Dust:just after the first battle over trying to land an undefended transport on that one planet while the two carriers are trying to destroy the enemy shipyard. Always, the carriers are destroyed before they can destroy the shipyard. And the transport never is able to suvive because the enemy sends one of their heavy destroyers to the planet first.
So after the first battle i end up with:1planet, 1frigate, 1destroyer. While the enemy has:3planets, 1shipyard, 2battlecruisers.

Slipstream: In slipstream i got as far as to where they had fixed the stargate. Lost the transport though.

Ok a few things

I dont rember oppening it in Stuff it. Just try draging the un ripped one into ares. Mabe it will work.

Second: Loved the plugin. Beat it all. I only found the last mission hard. When it brought be back to the main screen after beating it. I was like WHAT THE **** WHAT HAPPENS NOW. It left me hanging.

Other than that loved it

Don't give up yet... This is one of the Best plugins I've seen since FoP. Great graphics, sound, missions, and plot (I guess since there aren't any briefings yet). I would really like to see this in its finished state

I've decided not to initiate Project Genocide. Quite frankly, the last thing we need is a universal massacre in downtown Asia. SA: Get over it.

Don't give up Joveia this is a very good plug-in.

On the other hand, in previous versions of SETR the ships turned too slowly for their speeds. While there is a good argument for this, its annoying with all that frontal weaponry.
