I have a problem with Strata 3D. I am currently making an Ares add-on and I am making the graphics for it using Strata 3D. I have already completed 2 ships, and I was just about to finish the third (the biggest and best) when suddenly, every time I tried to select my ship, or do almost anything in Strata 3D my computer starts running in an infinate loop (my curser turns into the wrist watch icon, but my HD isn't running). Norton CrashGuard tells me that it bombed because of an 'unmapped memory exception.' Can anyone help me? I am desperate! Thanks.

First of all, turn Norton Crashguard off. Norton has gotten rid of it because they found it created more crashes than it stopped Posted Image Well, what kind of computer do you have? OS 9? X? Make sure you've updated to the latest version, strata 3D base.

Yeah, I only turned Norton on because it kept on crashing. I have OS 8.6 and Strata 3D version 3.0.2 I was working fine for the longest time, but then it suddenly quit...
If anyone has any ideas, I'm sure it would help.

hmm.. well, first of all, update to Strata 3D base 3.5. If you get MacAddict, it is on the latest December 2001 disc.

Ok, sorry everyone for dragging this topic back to the top of the list (it is pretty old) but I have just figured out my problem, and it may be important if someone else has the same problem (there is absolutly nothing anywhere on this).
For some reason my computer was overlaoding by running Stata 3D with millions of colors on. Once I ran it with thousands of colors, it ran perfectly well. Well, on with my add-on! Posted Image

I'd just like to point out that it would be really stupid to "upgrade" 3.0.2 to 3.5, considering that 3.5 is crippled because it no longer has animation(very important for rotating ship pics), antimatter, advanced texturing etc.
