Problem with Hera

OK, y'all, I'm pretty sure this kind of thing has been posted before, but I'm too lazy to look, so I'm gonna post it:
I'm writing a nice, big plugin for Ares using Hera. This is my dilemma. I can't get Hera to recognize that the ships that are not Player 0 are Player 1. I set them to Player 1, and they end up as Player -1. Also, every time I load one of the two missions I've completed so far (in about two weeks, and they're not overly complicated) it keeps giving me nasty little messages telling me that it received an unexpected request to load a sprite, could not load a requested sprite, and, in the case of my second scenario, that it can't load the flagship of the -1 admiral. It can't determine the player ship, and I very firmly set the flag that denotes it. It also can't figure out that these enemy ships are supposed to have targets, another thing I very firmly denoted. This thing is driving me nuts! Help me, please!
P.S. - I need somebody to help me with graphics: I'm going to change the graphics for the human ships, as this scenario is going to be based upon the idea of the Cantharans delaying their attacks upon the humans until the humans have a well-developed space fleet. Graphics are the one thing I can't do.

Suddenly, the little scoutship disappeared and then reappeared right behind the alien warfleet. The gravitic ship's captain hailed the armada. "You are going to be destroyed, but I will give you a choice as to how you want to spend eternity: big pieces, little pieces, or quarks?"
Dead silence.
"Quarks it is, then."
Dead silence.

I think I might have the answer for some of your problems. Open your file with hera and click the edit scenarios button. Make sure that the number of players is set to two. It is a text field near the top.

And for the -1 Admiral thing, Ares is trying to give a neutral unit an isPlayer flag. Make sure that the _only_ ship with an isPlayer is the player's ship.

Thanks, fellas. Brookeview, that's what was wrong with it not accepting the second player. And Pallas Athene, I think the thing only having one player is why it couldn't take the player ship. I just made a dumb mistake and didn't realize it. I even remembered to do that in my first scenario (I submitted it quite a while ago, but it doesn't seem to have taken. I'm going to re-submit it in a few minutes), but I just completely forgot to do it in this one. Oh, well. Thanks again.

Aiight, I'm back at it again, but this time I'm absolutely positive Hera is screwed up.
Let me explain the scenario, and the problem I'm having.
There are two non-ship objects in the system important to this post, a planet (Object # 0), and a sun (Obj. #9). There is one Ishiman ship, a Cruiser, and eight visible Gaitori ships: two Gunships, five Cruisers, and a Transport. The Gunships are set to attack the Ishiman Cruiser, and the Cruisers are set to locate themselves by the planet. The Transport has a fixed destination, the sun. Idea is, when you destroy the transport (which is just kind of sitting there) in order to get rid of the last Gaitori ship and win the scenario, you unhide the hidden Gaitori fleet, consisting of two Carriers, an HVD, two Gunships, and five Cruisers. Surprise ending.
However, my problem is this: even though I have it set so that when the Transport is destroyed (obj 28), the hidden Gaitori fleet (objs 17 through 27) is unhidden, and this condition used to work, NOW the 'hidden' Gaitori fleet starts out unhidden, while the transport still exists. To top it off, you can't destroy the Gaitori ships. Well, you can, but as soon as you do, they re-appear. And the Transport no longer has a fixed target, and lands on the planet. I've checked and re-checked the scenario, but it doesn't work.
If I had a homepage, I'd post a link to the plug, but I don't, so I can't. Any suggestions?

Check all your conditions...
Make sure the transport is still the object # that the condition is refering to....
But you've done thoes already... humm
Not sure. It might be messed up. Download a new copy of Ares and try it before you think about starting over.

I, like a smart person, burned my registered copy of Ares to a CD so that if my iMac ever fried (which it has already done once), I could pop in the CD and re-install the program without the hassle of trying to re-download it through AOL. So I'll do that and see what happens. I still think it's Hera, since Ares works just fine. [sarcasm/] Or it might just be getting confused between all the plugins I've been playing lately [/sarcasm]

I hope you didn't go to all that trouble, because the fix takes less than a minute.
Remember the "Player has no ships" bug?
Well, "Object has been destroyed" is actually "Object doesn't exist."
So, either activate the condition a couple seconds into the game, or duplicate the Transport, make it use Class 801, with the destroy action of revealing the fleet.
