EVO sprites work fine for Ares. It's just suggested that you change the background color from black to purple or something. Then you have to set the rotation resolution of the ship that has the sprite to 10, and you're fine.

Give me the location of the sprites and I'll take a look.

I though Ground Zero had real potential... I would keep it up, seeing as you had the graphics and everything for it.

I'm guessing the sprites are rectangular, otherwise there ISN'T a problem with the sprites, just you (and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt)

THAT WAS EXACTLY MY PROBLEM WITH MY PSEUDO-3D SPRITES! Posted Image

Shame my plug bit the dust because of that (and because hera was too buggy, no one would arrange the sprites for me, no time, etc.)

Yes, they're rectangular.

Steel Bahamut, I'll try to fix them this week.

Just thought I'd note that I've explained how to do this yourself, in this topic. There's no need to offload the job to somebody else.

Bah, it's no good. I just spent 45 minutes fiddling around in PS trying to do Sundered Angel's method and still haven't even managed to do one of them. You might want to contact the makers of the original sprites and ask if they could make some Ares-style ones for you, as I keep messing up and you said you didn't have time to figure it out yourself.

Assume C is the number of columns across the sprite, assume W is the width of each individual sprite, and that H is the height.

1) Well, DL GraphicConverter, I don't know precisely where to find it.
2) In the finder, duplicate the sprite until you have C copies.
3) Take the first one, use "Add/Remove Margins." Remove (C-1)W from the right. Save.
4) Take the second. Remove W from the left and (C-2)W from the right. Save.
5) Take the third. Remove 2W from the left and (C-3)W from the right. Save.
6) Continue until you get to step 7.
7) Take the last. Remove (C-1)W from the left. Save.
8) Take each sprite, and add 0.5(H-W) each to the left and the right.

Now you have C strips of square sprites. From there its simply a matter of putting them together from that, and its very easy.

I'm not precisely sure, I don't have GraphicConverter on this comp yet. But I know that it's in some menu, and then under that there's some kind of "Change Size" submenu. And Add/Remove Margins is right there.

It's just math... if it's a standard 6x6 EV sprite, use
..... R -5
-1C L R -4
-2C L R -3
-3C L R -2
-4C L R -1
-5C L .....

so you just put in, say the first one, -5 (in the right one) and then in the second you would put, -1C (in the left one) and then in the right one you would put -4 correct? or do you even include the C? (and yes it is a standered EV sprite) one more thing...you save after every one of those right?
