Hi, Mr. Lamont, I just downloaded your ß6 version of Ares/Hera, and was excited to find a file called preferences templates (in the Hera B6 folder). Unfortunately, this template uses an invalid template type: ULNG
Maybe this is all the result of a gigantic Typo, or maybe I have an out of date version of ResEdit™ (mine's 2.1.3, please could someone check!), but as a fellow programmer, I am concerned. If anybody can find a solution to this, I'd greatly appreciate this.

This isn't an authoratative answer (I'm not privvy to the information Nathan has) but my guess is that perhaps the TMPL was created with Resourcerer?

It was created with Resourcerer. Which, sadly, not that many people have.

Yes it was created with Resourcerer, sorry about that. It should be easy enough, though, for you to change the ULNGs that ResEdit doesn't like into LONGs. It shouldn't make a difference for the starting level number.
Don't expect to do anything useful with the template except change the starting level number.

Apparently, ULNG isn't alone: UWRD is another invalid field. Could someone please:
a) Tell be what template type I should change this to or
where I can get resourcerer

Geez! Who would want to buy a program that costs over 250 bucks just to edit pref temps. Hmph… I was not able to find any freeware version or such anywhere, so changing them files to ResEdit format might be a good idea for the users' sake.
What differences are there between Resourcerer and ResEdit? If the resource names are different (I mean them clut and PICT and such) I can't change the creator with this nifty application I have that allows you to change creator type and the format of the file. For example I can easily change a Photoshop picture to a Picture viewer format by changing creator from photoshop to PV ogle. Really useful application (made by a Finn by the way ).
Yes I am back again… for how long I don't know and who cares anyway…

Strange… just a moment ago I was flying through a dense asteroid field… but now I feel quite cold… And just what happened to my
H-Cruiser?!?
