Before they sailed (my plugin)
Well, guys, I'm happy to announce that my plugin is nearing it's alpha test version. I've finished nearly all of the graphics and plot data, and I'm waiting for the last few elements to fall into place.

It takes place a l-o-n-g time ago (on Earth, it's the 14th century), beack when the Salrilian Confederacy first encounters the Audemedon Radicals and decides to assimilate them.

I'm just saying that this is MY idea, and nobody should copy it.

When verion ß.1 comes out, I'll add to this post.
later,
-Slug

I've encountered a snag in the sound-effects department.
No deadline as-of-yet.

Oh! How nice, Someone is starting ANOTHER ares plugin?

So, do you have all ships drawn out and blueprinted?

Do you have every ship modification written down on paper?

Do you have every mission written down, along with text and breifing?

Have you storylined the plot?

I HAVE

Better get cracking.

P.S. I love being the first member to announce their plug, on the old board, remember? It has so many fringe benifets!

Blue prints are great, but what about 3-D modles? You can not make Ares ships on an etcha-sketch. Also, Hera's release shall sepperate the men from the boys. It will come down to who can deal with hera and who can not. The good plugs will be those that have imagination and skill in dealing with all aspects, including "coding" (you get the idea)

Friday April 28th:
Pulled a major graphics and sounds (made by me) haul today.
I got a couple of the sounds from my The Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy CDs, so look forward to some spectacular space battles. Posted Image

I am now working on the final big explosion at the end of the game where the -- blows up.

Thursday May 11th

Accomplished a lot today:
1)Ships you can look forward to :
•Salrilian Light Cruiser (powerfull ammo weapon, but only a few charges)
•Salrilian Heavy cruiser (Takes a hell of a lot of damage to kill)
•Salrilian Frigate (Badly shielded, but armed to the teeth)
•Salrilian interceptor (Impossibly fast, somewhat decent weapon)
•Salrilian galleon (Weak as heck. Used for fodder)

•Gaitori Astrominer (4 unguided long range pulses @ a time)
•Gaitori Interceptor (fast, well shielded, good weapon, expensive)
•Gaitori Blockade Runner (Fastest ship in the game, doesn't need hyperspace)
•Gaitori Weapons Transport (with a cloaking device)

•Obish Carrier (carries interceptors, lousy weapon)
•Obish Battle Platform (almost immobile, badly armed, but takes a lot of damage)
•Obish interceptor (slow, well shielded, turreted short-range laser)

•One unique Salrilian ship (HUGE) in the last level
•More coming!

2) I made quite a haul of Audemedon Voices too. They sound like Cylons for some odd reason. Audemedon Assault transport has an awsome launch sound now.

3) I've also worked on some neat explosion sounds. I only hope that HERA will import SimpleSound files...

I've said it before. The name "Interceptor" means "Able to intercept" and, therefore, means that an interceptor is very fast and maneuverable. An interceptor is a fast, light, maneuverable craft, or should be.

It would be funny to hear an Audemedon say "By your command" to a Salrilian.

Thursday, June 8

-Ugh... Garbage night...
-Decided to pay a short visit to the ol' Ares Boards

-I've pulled a major haul on sounds (Many of which I made and I will share)
-I uploaded 2 files to the addons section (see above post)
-I've created a few more Strata 3Ds (including the Human Light Destroyer, a damaged Audemedon, and the Capital City of Gaitor burning)
-Extracted ALL the music from Ares (such as Doomtroopers Title Music, etc...) into application format (email me if u want 'em).
-Changed the codename of the project from Before They Sailed to Audemed's Storm
-Posted a preview of Audemed's Storm in the Trash Talk section (The only section that actually lets you use "pure" UBB)
-Let that obnoxious Commodore back in...

Also, If anyone would like some of our files, email us asking us what you want. If your demands aren't too unreasonable, We'll gladly donate them.
