Now I think it's high time that we left behind prose
and instead wrote out lyrical posts - and in those,
either iambs or dactyls, or such anapests
as I think in this post I have shown to be best.

If it's not in your style to make sense, then don't worry
for rhyming is optional, and in a hurry
you can even break slightly from rhythmic perfection
and double your beats for a short, confined section.

The question, of course, is if anyone here
will be crazy enough (and skilled, too) to adhere
to the theme of my random and rigid-ruled post
which in Trash Talk alone would be non-spam (at most).

Very nice, very nice indeed,
but, seeing that you want us to heed
to that sad and unreasonable post
you'll realize that people here,
Are probably not the best to coax

It won't work I tell you
It won't work I say
So leave this order behind you
and have a nice day.

I know that it's not likely that this idea will hold,
but I figured that I might as well; so far, you've done as told.
On the subject of my emphasis - to me, it all looks fine.
I fairly strictly kept to anapestic short-short-long time.
But for your benefit, I wrote this post iambically
so if there's any more dispute, it's not because of me.

Trash Talk right now is awfully slow
This may be the topic that makes it glow.
But, lo
I don't think so.

Bah.

Hmm. I must work on a haiku.

Haikus are alright
I suppose they're rhythmical
But not all that much.

What you're saying, it seems
is that "rhythmical" means
that I've put in four syllables, when in fact, I ween,
it is only three syllables, exactly the the same as it has always
been.

Quote

Jambo's original attempt:
Haiku's lines are not
five eight five, but they instead
contain five seven five

But interestingly enough
I've called your bluff
For as you have just proven, it's not very tough
To err, as you have just put six syllables into your third line of
stuff.

Trying to change your opinion of haikus, eh?
Perhaps it's just because you're incapable of making them the correct way.

Actually i didnt mean to leave that posted, i got rid of it in like 2 minutes after posting it and thought you didnt have time to see it. Anyways i was thinking of they're as two syllables because i was uncontracting it.

What an interesting chat
As I thought and I sat
Making prose to rhyme
without blowing a dime
but still I do fear
that this topic will veer
that it will walk down the block
and get hit by SA's stick of lock
but Pallas, good sir
the times go in a blur
we'll still yet have great fun
and avoid the harsh mid-day sun.

As your case is quite valid, to you I concede:
you may choose to ignore them, for such do you need.
But in these modern times,
a good rhythm and rhyme
are ignored and oft given no heed.

Iambs are far too regimented;
In my opinion, one of the worst forms ever invented.
I prefer limericks, short and sweet;
They sound really cool and look pretty neat.

Yes, I think that we all must insist,
for these poems are not to be missed.
If they're really that bad
then they must be had
or, at least, one or two, for the gist.

These poems are weak. Weak weak weak
They make me cry and barf in my sink

What madness drove them here to say
"I'm sweet and kind, and brighter than day"

Maybe the only people who can really rhyme
are the ones that do music, in all their spare time

Journalist, you man
you toot your horn
all day and night
since the day you were born

and dude number three you do the same thing
you honk and you squeak on the one which should sing

but I am the last, who out of us all
sits on my bed, practicing hours so tall
I sit and listen to bands which I like
charlie, and brian, and, Who stole my bike

the conclusion of this merry tale
is never by a oboe, unless it's on sale.

I agree that she just plain sucks Jambo. I really like my poem. I mean, who can go wrong with dedicating a poem to all those who have lost their lives in the service of their country?

I'm going to break into prose for a moment.

µ, shut up. First, your poem sucked. It is quite evident that you were desperate to find words that rhyme. Second, quit talking about real life. Nobody except us understands it, and it is incredibly uninteresting. Third, if you're going to bring up school stuff, at least make it somewhat similiar to reality.

Again, shut up. Nobody wants to hear your worthless drivel. Anywhere. Ever.

That is all, carry on.

So you can't find a way
to put what you say
into poems anyway?

Quote

Nobody except us understands it, and it is incredibly uninteresting. Third, if you're going to bring up school stuff, at least make it somewhat similiar to reality.

Or, perhaps if you'd put in a little more time
than it looks like you spent, then a poem would be fine:

Just shut up. I've a few things to say to you, µ.
First, it sucked. You tried too hard to rhyme. Number two -
it's quite boring to talk about real life, because
the only ones who understand it, are us.
And for three, if you're going to talk about school
you should make it sound more like reality, fool.

Disclaimer's note: I don't endorse
opinions shown in this discourse
(of course).
