G4 titanium, 1GHz, 60G, DVDR. Hmmmmm
But is titanium passee? Is this the ultimate, or merely an interm stepping stone to next year's new model, made of an even cooler metal (113 Uut perhaps).
My bakelite G3 needs replacing...

So should I get the new powerbook or not.....

Opinions?

I'd get the new powerbook. Seeing that now it's at 1 GHz and that it has the great superdrive. Least that's what I would do. It's a great buy. I don't think they will come out with something too updated next year. Maybe some price drops, and speed bumps. But I'd say for the the new powerbook.

Has anything heard anything on how feasible it is to incorporate IBM's new PowerPC chip into a notebook?

the new IBM chip, the (soon to be) G5? Another year I'd say before it makes it to a powerbook. I think it runs slower than the G4 qt the moment...

You ordered a PBG4? While I'm waiting to hear which model, I suppose someone should pass me that drool bin...

The top of the range of course, with Super Drive, 1GB RAM... Posted Image

Heh!

I have to wait two weeks before it is available though.
I have been holding out for a superdrive PB for a few months now. A bit more RAM would have been nice though. (you can never have enough RAM Posted Image Posted Image sic)
