I'm not sure. It happens so rarely.

I've never seen a rabid chicken. I thought only dogs could get rabies?

Perhaps an evil chicken is plotting to steal a plane ticket, fly halfway around the world, and bite dude3?

Your mission, if you chose to accept it, is to stop this evil chicken, and return it to intensive care at the local KFC. This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds...Good luck!

The general rule is that anything that's warm-blooded can carry/transmit rabies. Chickens are warm-blooded so it's possible the chicken which bit you could've had rabies. Next question is whether or not the skin was broken, etc etc etc.

If it just bit you and didn't break the skin, don't worry.

Chicken bites dont hurt too much. And if it tries to bite you you can always kick it. Most chickens won't bother though. (My family has 4 chickens.)

Dude 3 sits, frozen at computer, staring at chicken which is in front of his face...

<typing softly> "It's been here 3 days now and I can tell it is going to bite me soon... What do I do?"

And yeah, man, if it was foaming, it probably wasn't rabid. It probably just brushed its teeth.

Do you think in the past chickens have killed many people via biting? It's intriguing... Rats killed plenty of people when they were isolated in the cities of the renaissance, so I can only imagine what a _chicken_ could do...

Chickens have never had the same access to humans' homes that rats have had. A rat can get in through any small hole in the building, which they used to have plenty of, whereas a chicken needs a much larger hole and isn't exactly stealthy. Plus, chickens have always been kept on the farms.

I just had an interesting thought. In Hawaii, there are wild chickens, because some people have them fight and gamble on them there, and some escaped, eventually leading to a decent wild chicken population. So all chickens I've heard on started on farms and such. Hawaii is the only place I know of with wild chickens. So where did they come from in the first place? Not like they suddenly magically appeared on farms.

I got bitten by a fish once. Six times. Then I successfully kicked it out of the way.
