Commercials all over the Minnesota media have been lambasting viewers and listeners with the message that there will be a huge increase in police presence. The reason given is to crack down on drunk drivers during the 4th of July weekend. Coincidently, America™ is on a code yellow national alert in seeming anticipation of terrorist activity. It's a little odd considering that this sort of police surge has never been blasted all over the media like this before. I have a sinking feeling that the federal government knows about something, and a nation-wide crack down on "drunk drivers" would certainly point in that direction. I'd be interested to know if there are any similar message being announced in any other states. Any non-Minnesotan American residents seeing anything similar?

Just the usual "Report Drunk Drivers" signage that goes up around holidays...and the giant barriers being put up around the federal court house and such...and the blockades around the Mall as well...

Well, I am not going to say whether I think a terrorism attack is going to happen. The biggest factor will be whether ashcroft thinks america is frightened enough, and the Justice Department or Tom Ridge decides to give you a little shakeup, maybe some anthrax or a small-scale shopping department bomb.

But then again, I'm only assuming that they would do what I would logically do in their position Posted Image

And I'm crazy. Dont forget that.

I've seen no such thing, although I rarely watch TV or listen to the radio or that sort of thing. I could easily see a terrorist event on the 4th of July, however, although that doesn't mean I'm betting on one.

Nope, no terrorism on the 4th.
