Wait a moment. If we are who are lives make us to be, then who is directing our lives? If it's we, then we're directing our lives who are directing who we will be, and so our lives are directed by who we're directing our lives who we will be. It follows then, that our lives are directed by a pseudo-entity which repeats itself since it's directing itself, deriving no authority from what it's directing (or infinite authority, since it IS what it's directing) and on occasion going back in time or looking upon the entity for direction, that is itself forward in time since it's made the decisions which impact on how it will direct how it will be and it's manner of direction.

But ourselves make the choices? So where does it start (chicken/egg starting here...)

This is Ares Trash Talk. I see it as being similar in function to B&B, but in an Ares genre. Given the very very tiny number of topics here I don't think there's much reason to let the topic die if it doesn't feel like it.

It's keeping this forum semi-alive by the looks of it.

*sigh*

I suppose you're right. At least try to work caffine/novelty mints into your posts, okay?

Now now forge. Do that on my boards and I'll demonstrate that an orifice is not actually required. Posted Image

Seriously though dude3, it doesn't matter that much. If you don't like the turn in topic, feel free to ignore it, attempt to hijack it back, or start a new one. This is Trash Talk, where individuals are free, insofar as their choices make their lives which circumscribe their choices.

Sounds neat, but let me stretch first. Only about 1" worth of stretching per year is recommended on non-cartilage areas as you know. So... gimme a couple years and there shouldn't be a problem cramming a tin a mints through my body.

I can see philosophy is dead, but for the record forge, what I was getting at, is that you have no control over how you make your beginning choices. It's: chemistry, unconscious, influences by others, influenced by circumstances... etc...

A person growing up in prison will be different to a person growing up in a luxury mansion under the kind tutelage of Bill Gates. That's my point, and feel free to debate it.
