We humans covet this world, going on about our daily tasks, and we do it so well that we notice not the inconsistencies of this world in which we live. In a fit of insanity, I decided to go about today noticing every little thing that happened and finding out why.

1) When I woke up, my clock displayed the time '12:35 pm' though it was the morning. The previous night it was working perfectly, and I found out no blackouts had occurred while I was asleep.

2) When making a complex model in Strata, it suddenly said 'the required resources were not found' when I went to test render it. I tried it again and it worked perfectly.

3) The internet disconnected without me receiving a 'you have been disconnected' message. Something you would not notice... but I was taking special attention.

This all proves to me that the world we live in is either dominated by chaotic forces, or we do not live in a world of our own devising!

Face it people. We're being tricked by someone or something. Here are some of the theories I've come up with:

1) The aliens are having fun with us. They enjoy a joke as much as the next man.

2) We are part of an intergalactic 'make lots of races and see which ones get space travel first' contest.

3) We don't exist, but are thoughts in the mind of someone.

4) You don't exist, and this is the Truman Show!

5) We're plugged into a 'Matrix' and (ref: The Thirteenth Floor) people are doing psychological tests on us, like seeing how we react to i.e. nuclear weapons in our society. This might explain magnest.

I think we know who 'moderator' is working for...

Well, I was browsing on AOL this morning… and it disappeared.

Not "Unexpectedly quit," not "Disconnected,"

Disappeared.

There wasn't so much as an error message, in fact you couldn't even tell it had ever been there………

I totally agree with you Count. Everytime I have dashaview, or however you spell it , I always think that it is a computer glitch and that is why I am remembering somthing happening twice. Or I keep on thinking that, as in the 'Thirteenth Floor', we are just computer programs. I don't know. You can never be to sure.

I was reading a book on a flight back from Europe, and I'm sure I never read it before, but somehow I knew what was going to happen with uncanny accuracy…

Déjà vu

6) All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, and all energy follows a fundamental basis of rythm, system, and harmony. We control that basis. There is no such thing as life, you are all part of a universal consciousness experiencing itself subectively. Deal with it.

Interesting theory moderator. Matter is energy, but it's a little more complex than slow vibrations. That theory, as effective as it is in our normal world, has been proven to break down at high temperatures (i.e. in excess of 1 billion degrees).

I really am beginning to think we're in a Thirteenth Floor world. Not one that ends at some unspecified part outside your city, but one that ends outside the solar system? Why else would the universe try so hard to prevent us from achieving ftl?

Why?

WHY?

I feel like I'm in a tank. The air smells stale and the walls are closing in.. uh oh.

Ok, so were all thinking about the posibility of all this crap happening to us. But then you start to think real hard. What if it really is true?

Do not understimate the power of a billion year old race, their technology or their ability.

If you think you can beat us, get out of our matrix, or disrupt it, then you are moving in a floating point world. We programmed your ability to understand, your tolerance to the forces of nature, and can redefine your limit of understanding with absolute accuracy.

For us, the possibility of failure cannot exist, for our existence redefines the ability to succeed.

This is not Count Altair.

Or it could let you carry out this conversation to make you think it wasn't true.

First of all, let me make myself clear on one thing... I do remember typing that last post... and editing it. But of course that doesn't mean I actually edited it... If you've seen Dark City you'll know what I mean...

Avatara's comment is so very very true. We're basically animals to them, like flies are insects to us. We are reluctant to attribute to a fly, an inner consciousness or subjective world like us. How much different would they view us? If this is so, then they would suffer about as much guilt doing this to us, than we would in ridding a house of cockroaches.
