Heh.
As for the cheese, being a Californian, I'll have to go for "It’s the Cheese" cheese. Though my mom did go to grad school at Madison...

I'm all for topics on touchy issues, but please be careful how you folks propose them. "THE HATED CHRISTIANS" probably isn't the best way to introduce a topic. I mean, this is Trash Talk, but use some tact.
Ok. Sorry about that. I didn't mean in any negative way… I'm a christian myself anyway, so…

Yeah, which cheese is better, Californian, or Wisconson?
I like good old Coloradian cheese.
What? Colorado doesn't make cheese? Then what's all that orange gunk they serve at the schools...

There is nothing more frightening than a Fundamentalist Southern Baptist.
<TRUE STORY>
A friend of mine (known as Jane) was the daughter of some very religious people. Fundamentalist Southern Baptists to be precise. Anyway, they were completly against the idea of their daughter dating/meeting with/ or otherwise consorting with the male gender. They were believers in the practice of "courtship" which was explained to me as this: Suitor sees girl, Suitor talks to girls father, father and suitor talk, father and suitor make arrangements for marriage, father introduces suitor to daughter, daughter and suitor are married, daughter and suitor probably make physical contact for the first time on wedding night.
Pretty scary eh?
Jane wasn't too thrilled about that, so she started dating a guy I knew, and they were happy. Parents found out, nearly put her in intensive care from several beatings and emotional trauma. Jane left home out into the world (at 18) and then entered a minor legal battle to get her stuff out of her parents possesion so that she could move out for good. Parents try all sorts of psychological tricks to get her to come back home. And before the restraining order, she was constantly ducking search parties.
The point? That Fundamentalist system of ideals seems very much to infringe upon the freedoms of people. That is why I don't agree with them, and in some cases severely dislike (okay, hate) them for their actions.
If you really want to read about reasons why not to be christian, read Why I am Not a Christian. Good book.

P.S. Hey, Talon Karde, didn't mean to get you offended. Like I said, I'm a Christian too, so…
Well, you definitely fooled me...
Why did you post it in the first place, if you're a christian? Why not just debate religion in general in one huge topic?
PS. And you're lucky that unregistered people cant be Karmaslapped...

Anybody tried Feta Cheese? It's quite interesting, made from Sheep's Milk. Very mild on the palate.

And I agree that some religious beliefs can be very silly and cause many of the world's problems. It's too bad, really.

Anyway, I've had this really good cheese up in Canada. All I can remember calling it was "cow cheese", cuz it had a picture of a red cow on the wrapper. The name probably won't help anyone finding it much tho, since most cheese is made from cows.

It's very well written, perhaps better than you may think!
Hope this helps in making the issue more balanced.

I grew up Baptist, and yes they are at times Legalistic (funny, Jesus was against this during HIS day!). Don't confuse "Fundamentalism" (believing the basics) with Legalism (ritual and works is far better than God's grace). Legalism, I believe is what is wrong here, not Christianity. I hope this helps...

I'm Greek Orthodox and don't really care about other religions; why? Because we were all taught in Sunday school that our religion was the right one; in some form or another.
And Feta Cheese isn't sheep milk, it's goat milk; it's Greek (like me) and it's salty (like me when I'm sweaty).
