Basically, my actual birthday is on the 31st, but I can't have my party then, so it's on the 30th. Basically, everybody on the Ares boards is invited, just be on GR from 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight EST on the 30th. We can chat, play games, etc.. And you lucky people don't have to send me presents! (Ya see, I think the custom of presents origionated with parties as payment for the food and stuff, but I'm not giving you guys any food, so you don't have to give me presents) You guys can also go buy some chips and ice cream or something to make it more partyish for ya, I guess. Anyway, see you guys on GR.

God damnit! I'll be asleep then. Maybe I'll get up at 4am, then. What's your time zone? I might be able to attend if it's 9 hrs behind CET... That would be cool. If the Telekom doesn't F*ck up my DSL yet again...
Pacific Time Zone. It'll be from 4:00 - 9:00 here.

Well, my 15th birthday is coming up, and, well, everybody on the boards is invited (sorta).

Are you having a real party at your house? If so, then is Nik attending? If nik is attending, can I come with?

This isn't right. This isn't even wrong.

Well, he's invited, I don't know if he's attending yet (he probably is). If he is, you can come along too, I guess. I don't know how we could organize it, though. I guess I could mail his invitation along with a thing that says you're coming too and to make arrangements with you to come with him or something.

Well, have a great one anyway. 15's the age where stuff begins to get really interesting- crack open the 6-packs, and rouse the neighbourhood!

The 30th? Damn. I'm afraid I'll be trudging about on some mountain or other with a bunch of guys, a priest, and a heavy pack on my back. You don't want to ask.

Heh. We Austrians do that at 14.

[With my memory? ]
Anyway, I'll see if there's anything we can do with net levels and such for you
BTW, are you planning on getting Deus Ex? I'd really like to play that with you, as well as Ares and Bolo.

Darkk: How do you set up a Marathon game w/o a LAN? I've never bothered trying. We should all make M2 levels and play together in honor of MInv.

As for your question Pallas, I think what you need to do to network Marathon/2/Infinity is fake an appletalk network over TCP/IP or modem-to-modem (I've got DSL and am not paying long distance, so modem-to-modem isn't happening). I THINK you can do this by connecting to the server using "server IP address" in the chooser, but I'm not sure. The only way I know that really works (in theory) is a shareware modem-to-modem network hack that came with the Trilogy CD. It won't work with DSL, its performance over long distance would be next to nill, and there's no way in h*** most of us are giving out our phone numbers online, so I think we're not going to do that.
Hehe. I love the way exploded corpses fly along the walls in Marathon. I've got the trilogy, so if we can figure out internet multiplayer, BRING IT ON. >

My brain will be gone, but still...it will be nice to meet you all!
Can we also play a bit of Ares? I've only found 1 online game so far, (it was a newbie, me terran, him ishiman) and I kicked his butt... Unfortunately, I dont have Marathon (atm), so I cant play that...I only have Starcraft and Ares installed right now. How about someone downloading ST:Elite Force the demo? I could play that...
CYA all...hopefully.
