Since the RPG is starting over, I think we should make clear who our characters are.

Allright, Here's my new character. He is the liason from the Ishiman protectorate to Earth. He basically helps recently established protectorate colonies get back on his feet. However, he is not actually an Ishiman himself. At one point, about nine hundred years ago, he was a member of a protectorate race, and was elected to represent them at the Ishiman Protectorate council. After several dozen terms, he was employed by the Ishimans as a liaision to newly founded races. Since then, he has been sent to hundreds of worlds, and aided all sorts of species. He has a firm grasp on Galactic politics, but more importantly, helps get fledgeling races on their feet. Because his species lifespan is unusually long, even though he is young, he is the most experienced member of the Ishiman Protectorate species reestablishment comitee.

After the "peacekeeping" committee decided to back the Humans, and retook Earth, the main Ishiman legislature decided that the peacekeeping committee had been rash to invade Cantharaan and Salrillian space, even to retake a beleaguered race's home world, and had ordered the withdrawal of military aid. However, not wanting to alienate such a capable and promising species as Humanity, they ordered the reestablishment committee to establish ties, and provide whatever aid they though reasonable. This situation was different from anything the comitee had dealt with before, so they decided to send their most experienced emissary in to bail out the Humans, who were now on the top of the Cantharan hit list, even if the cannies couldn't really get into Human space.

I'm a repair droid, working for a squadron of Ishiman fighters. The squadron mechanic, who is also a pilot, is in charge of when I need to get the fighters fixed by and what resources I have available. I really like paradoxes and flying, and so I enjoy complaining while I work and being taken to the squadron's next base, if it moves. I think that's about it, for now.

Jerry Levt, Captain of the newly-converted carrier U.N.S. Chimaera.

Origionally the colony ship U.E.S.C. Taranto, the Chimaera underwent massive military conversion at the Tau Ceti Asteroid Shipyards.

During the Battle for Sol, the Chimaera was part of the decoy force which attacked and lured away the Cantharan armada while the Gateship was being destroyed. It's origional Captain, John Marxx, was killed in the fighting and his second-in-command, Levt, took the captain's chair.

Jerry Levt has earned the appreciative nickname "Slug" for his slippery tactics. The most notable and famous of which was "The Levt Maneuver", in which the carrier will fire a salvo of magneto bolts, engage it's FTL-drives and fire it's magneto salvo again before the Cantharan gunners can lock onto the carrier. (For you trekkies, this is an adaptation of the Picard Maneuver)

"Fleet Admiral" William Darkk: Darkk was origionally the chief computer officer of the Ares. He made the piloting AIs that flew many of the ships used by the humans on their fight for Earth, as the Ares crew wasn't big enough and the Ishimans wouldn't supply any. After the liberation, he became a Vice-Admiral but grew disenchanted with the "weak", "cowardly", and "short-sighted" methods of the UNS.

He became a vigilante/pirate, and managed to take a half-decent military force with him, including a HVD (his personal flagship), a group of carriers, and enough hardware to establish a base on a remote planet in an "unnavigable" asteroid field, that his AI programs managed to find routes through. Currently he tries to steal technology to reverse engineer and incorporate into his ships. He makes strikes by hacking jumpgates, and is greatly feared by all, especially those allied with the Cantharans.

[As far as superweapons go, I plan to make some weapons upgrades to my ships using existing weapons over a period of time, and maybe one superweapon a lot later (the ulitmate outgrowth of my "steal tech" policy.]

Similarly to Pharris, I work for a race, not actually being a member of it.

I am a Subcommander in the Obish Stellar Navy, second in command of an Escort, the Starbeam. My full name, given me by my Obish adoptive parents at the age of 15, is g'Var Krai'un, but I am known as 8 Lightnings for two reasons: The name "Lightning" was given to me as a callsign during combat training at the Obish Military Academy, and as for 8... well, it just had something to do with a subconscious feeling.

I appear human, and noone is entirely sure how I ended up in my current position. I am also a cyborg, with a pulse cannon in my right arm, and some basic enhancements to speed, sight, etc.

I would convert that to third person, but I don't want to waste the time.

Still the same character, but with expanded history to cover things that weren't said before.

Commander Jackson Spann, born 2 years prior to the Cantharan occupation of earth. As a young boy, Spann was an active member of the resistance forces, and worked his way up through the terran navy. Spann, also known as "El Spamo" was a remarkable tactician. While he had little grasp of huge strategy, his command on the battlefield was exceptional. He had nearly a sixth sense when it came to predicting sudden changes in enemy movement, and countered with speed and skill. Spamo won many small skirmishes and was an accomplished raider, capturing many convoys of Cantharan goods to the occupation forces. In battle, he was seldom defeated. He participated in the Battle of Proxima, and played a pivotal role to push the Cantharan Gateship into retreating towards earth. At the final battle for Sol, his task-force of ships sprung a very successful ambush on Cantharan warships. Following the recapture of earth, he was given full command of his own squadron of ships. During the ring-world conflict, Spamo was dispatched to "advise" the other races on an attack plan, as the UNS government did not want to be officially involved in a coflict at that time. Following the ring-world conflict, Spamo took leave from military life and began freighting materials to UNS rim colonies. It was during this time that the Starlance broke through into this space. Spamo privately pulled together his own fleet, showing a new facet of political skill not shown before. After the Starlance debacle, Spamo was reactivated by the UNS government and given a commission as Admiral of the Second UNS Fleet (SUNSFLT).

Spamo gives considerable time to his own hobby of mechanical tinkering. Connections with people in weapons R&D departments, as well as his own toying with systems during his sabbatical have given rise to upgrades in weapons technology. Currently only installed on one ship, the increased performance weapons are being outfitted throughout the UNS fleets. Spamo's personal ship therefore is a veritable floating testing ground, and Spamo's constant tinkering has given rise to several modifications. His ship, the UNS Flagship Mariposa is classified as a light battleship. A standard light battleship chassis with armor plating added gives a tougher ship that can last longer than the standard light BS in a firefight. The added mass is dealt with by an upgraded engine core that produces thrust more efficiently than the normal core and an experimental gyroscopic attitude-control system that assists the manuvering thrusters. They gyro guidance system causes the ship to literally toss itself in a new direction, giving the manuvering thrusters a much needed hand in shifting the massive bulk of the ship. The UNS development board is considering putting such a system on fighters to increase their manuverability in space. Weapon systems are fairly standard, with turreted forward arc magneto cannons that have been toyed with and given better cohesiveness to maintain force of a larger distance. Borrowed photo-kinetic beams, reverse engineered from Ishiman technology are installed, and larger coolant feeds increase the recycle time of the weapons. Instead of the standard C-missile package, the Mariposa sports several short range rocket arrays, that launch vectored thrust guided missiles with AI assisted seeker heads to destroy enemy fighter craft. Larger missile tubes launch anti-ship missiles that boast the same AI guided heads to aid in tracking enemy ships. Added manuvering rockets and gyroscopic balance systems make these missiles nimble death. Finally, the Mariposa also carries a small amount of long range standoff, anti-fleet nuclear missiles. Similar to ICBMs of the past, these monsters are usually fired at incoming fleets long before they enter normal weapons ranges. The standoff missiles have MIRV heads, and once they have accelerated to a significant fraction of c, the heads separate and the relativly tiny warheads travel towards the enemy fleet at revalistic speeds, set to detonate either on contact or time fuse. Needless to say, they are very expensive and used sparingly. Spamo also has his own private ship, the Dawn Treader which has only a single anti-fighter rocket battery, 2 laser turrets and high speed, long range engines.

*phew!*
How's that for a description. Posted Image

(I, personally, haven't changed, but there have been a few minor changes in the Imperium.)

I am a member of the young Phylydion species whose large dominion is just starting to get over the hardships caused by the Dark and the Salrilian crisis. The Taeskor Rangers is now a fully-formed group with me at the head. The temporary command of the Phylydia I(That's Phylydia One, just to clarify) was dissolved as soon as the crisis was so that I could continue doing what a Taeskor Ranger is meant to do. Garrion Retoe also is no longer in command of the Vermillion Battlegroup and is back carrying out missions for PhylSec. Drion Nerec commands the Phylydia II and the Primary Armada in addition to all Phylydion military forces. The High Octicon cast a unanimous vote to pull the border back six parsecs from the Salrilian border to give both of us more breathing space with an enlarged transfer zone. Drion Nerec has ordered into mass production the type of ship that the Radiant Flare was the prototype for. They will be commisioned as Flare-class light frigates. The Kiojea-class heavy battlecruiser is now standard in advance, defense, and scout fleets and will replace our older model of standard heavy battlecruiser soon. The Imperium plans to give some of these replaced ships to the Nijayias remnant to help them expand and secure their borders into two thirds size of the original Nijayias Empire.

Good luck to all in this new rpg. And be sure to visit the bar!!

Here's some more detail:

8 Lightnings stands about 5'9, and has black hair and blue eyes. His cybernetic implants are all covered by skin-coloured material, and the plates in his arms can slide aside to reveal the controls and mechanics beneath. He has several cybernetic connections, allowing him to plug into almost any computer he wishes. His eyes are equipped with a zoom mechanism, allowing him to zoom in to approximately 3,000 times what he could usually see. His built-in weapons include a pulse cannon which draws energy from his internal duo-fusion power core and compresses it into a bolt of energy.

That should do for now.

Oh, and Mag, what does a MSDI Mark IV Repair Droid look like, anyway?

About a meter tall, with a pair of small arms for using tools, a small head that can swivel around, and short legs with wide, flat feet that have electro magnets built in in case it needs to repair something at an awkward angle. Their hands have eight opposing fingers for superior tool manipulation, and they can use computers that have keyboards or buttons.

What? He wasn't joking?? Sheesh. I'm not going to go to all the trouble of making up a new character, not now anyway. There's always the bar, I guess, if any of you care to return as your former selves. Maybe I'll start a new role playing thread in a few days.

You do know Sargatanus would just lock it. The old RPG is dead, and anything about it is killed.

That's not true, it's just what he declared. I'm sure plenty of people would care to get back to the old role-playing, if with a few changes. As I said, the Bar will remain in the former role playing universe.

No, Cicion. This isn't the old RPG, or even a restarted RPG, this is a totally new RPG.

There are no Phylydions in this universe.

There are in the bar, Slug, and there always will be. But perhaps I can create a new character in a few days for use in the new rpg. In the meantime, I'll read the new rpg so far and decide what a good character would be.

Here's my character for the new rpg:

Name: Cicero Brownstone

Species: Human

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 180 lbs.

Physical appearance: Tall, somewhat broadshouldered and slightly stocky, with a fair amount of black hair with the front always swept to the side or back. Wears simple clothing, boots, and a black cloak under which many items are concealed.

Description: A shrewd, clever, somewhat eccentric trader who pilots a modified Human gunship(modified to have more cargo space: Removal of one magneto pulse cannon and addition of another laser turret made room for a decent-sized cargo bay) and travels all around the galaxy buying and selling rare or exotic merchandise such as gems, precious metals and odd little items. Although he has a peaceful appearance and is not a violent man at all, his ship is quite combat-worthy and he himself is well-trained in many forms of fighting, especially knife fighting, although eloquent speech, manners and charm are far more effective weapons for him. He has helped governments by spying or smuggling(for large sums of money) on occasion in the past. Although he has a license, a clean record, and all of his papers, he has on occasion formed plots and plans that have gotten him money at the expense of others. He is not above bribery when necessary. For several years he made his living as a pickpocket and he has mastered the art.
