I haven't been around this board for a long time, and I was wondering about a few things I've seen.
1. What IS an RPG? I've heard about them, and I don't exactly understand them. Please try to clarify for me.
2. I saw a while ago I saw a thing that had to do with "The Starlance". What was that?

1. An RPG is like a story that a lot of ppl are writing using there own characters and technologies and stuff.

The [url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum11/HTML/000136.html"]conflict[/url] is the current stage of the RPG, you can read it if you want or go back in time to the [url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum11/HTML/000079.html"]buildup[/url], the building up of the plot before the conflict (makes sense 
).

Okay. Hmmm.... So, an RPG is kinda like a story board? Here is another few questions:
1. What does RPG stand for?
2. How do you join an RPG?

1. Role Playing Game (If you ask me, we should have Role Playing Stories on the boards

I didn't even ask, I just waited until everybody was at the bar(in the story) and sort of hinted that I was looking for a mission, then it just sort of took off. I thought it was too big to get into then, but the next thing I know I'm blowing up my ship and being captured by trans-dimensional space terrorists(read the buildup)

I was in it from the beginning, but came back after a long absence. Now, however, I'm right back in the flow. I can help you get started and give you advice.
Hints: [list=1]
[*]Don't create an empire, you missed your chance. You could still do that, but it would have to be a long way away. Slug used alternate universes to bring in Darvonsol's empire.
[*]Don't make yourself unbeatable. That was a big problem in the old days, and still is.
[*]Do read through the buildup, stolen sword, and the officer's club bar.
[*]Do contact Sargatanus and/or SA on gameranger for advice/permission.

Well, he could create an empire that is backwater enough that it is ignored(look at thrid world countries now, well, ok, back in the sixties when there were superpowers, or even better look at the world during colonial times, you could be the next Dutch trading empire!)
