So my wife is interviewing candidates for an internship in Reno, and one of candidates listed someone named "[redacted]" as a reference. This [redacted] person is apparently a member of the Ambrosia webboards. So, if such an entity does exist, would you please step forward? I'm not looking to ask any reference style questions (Wendryn emailed this mystery person already), and you are welcome to remain anonymous, if you like. I am just curious...

What I'm curious is how you found out [this man] was a member.

When asked for references, the applicant provided the name of this [redacted], and a brief description (i.e. "how I know this guy"). This description mentioned that [redacted] is a member of the boards. Seems a bit random to me, buy, hey, whatever floats your boat. wink.gif

Very weird indeed. Who would put an ASW forum-membership on an application? (mWalk, maybe?)

Or Kirk. But neither is native to Reno, as far as I know. wink.gif

I would tell you, but then I'd have to… meh, you get the idea.

Nick is the only member of these boards I have met in person to date.

I'm pretty sure people don't usually put miscellaneous internet activities as one of the defining characteristics of someone they know. I can't help but wonder if someone recognized your wife's name from your time here.

Well, there is a contingent of ATTers here in Reno. We went to a BBQ hosted by a few of them a while back, so it is possible that I have even met this [redacted] person. I just don't relate names to handles very well. :\

I could ask the same question. I was being sarcastic. My follow up would have been, 'It should be obvious that pufer has secret powers', but you ruined it.

You bastard.

Damn, you stop checking ATT for a few weeks, and the weirdest s### crops up. I probably would never have known about this if vecoriwen hadn't notified me.

Anyway, guilty.

The guy with the beard here is the guy who applied for the job. The guy with the glasses is the guy he listed as a reference, i.e. me.

For reference, you can find out more about us and darwinian here.

I figured it was one of you, but I am so horrible matching faces to names (especially when you have a name and a handle, and I have to match a face to a name to a handle), that I wasn't sure. wink.gif
